The soldering iron handpiece uses the cartridge type precision soldering iron tip (C245 compatible) that seamlessly integrates the heating element, thermocouple, and soldering iron tip itself. The tip can get from room temperature to soldering temperature within 2 seconds thanks to the cartridge type tip design.
The digital LCD displays real-time information including the actual temperature, set temperature, power meter, preset channel, handpiece, buzzer feedback indicator. The power meter indicates the real-time power output, and you can monitor the soldering iron’s status easily.
This professional soldering station keeps the tip temperature steady at the set temperature via its PID temperature stabilization function and you can set the soldering station’s temperature from 194°F~842°F. This solder station includes more functions such as 4 preset channels, digital temperature calibration, sleep mode, auto-shutdown and C/F conversion.
This station has a built-in metallic rack for easy cartridge change and storage. The elevated cable guide makes the precision soldering handpiece easier to move around and hold on to. You can store solder wire on the dispenser and clean soldering tip with the integrated cleaning kit. The holder comes with a metallic protective mesh for better safety.

Customers find the soldering station easy to use and good for small work. It heats up quickly, and the temperature is easy to set. They appreciate the quality and say it’s a decent iron. However, some feel it may be too small for larger projects.

Precision, size matters
I have been struggling with soldering details and small stuff on pcb’s. My current iron left in pic is pretty basic it works but it doesn’t seem to constantly hold the temps I need and takes a long time to stabilize at all. I was looking at the less expensive yihua 948 ii(I think) and a couple other models that had heaters in the ends hoping for better quality and consistency. Decided to spend a little more and go with the 982 and im glad I did the quality is top notch and you can see in the picture how much smaller the tip is. I couldn’t tell size from the pictures in the ad bit these are clearly going to be more precise and easier to get the heat where I want it without heating everything around it. I hope the pic helps someone else with thier decision.

Heats Extremely Rapidly and Provides Precise Solder Control
This is an excellent soldering iron for surface mount and through hole soldering needs. It maybe a bit small for larger solder projects but it has improved my soldering technique on SMD and through hole soldering. Exchanging of tips is also very easy with this solder station. I like that it rapidly cools the iron when placed back in the holder. When you go to use the iron again it comes up to temperature in several seconds.

Curved tip catastrophe
I enjoyed the hour or so of use that I got from this station. Two bad (not a typo) I had TWO different ones, and both of the curved tips broke before use. Not sure why.I thought about buying it separately but I figured that if Iâm paying for the full thing, I want the full thing to work. Iâm just going to purchase a different soldering station.

Good soldering station, could be better
I needed to do some soldering recently, and I decided it was time to upgrade my ancient Radio Shack pencil iron. After looking at a variety of options, this one looked the most appealing due to the use of cartridge tips, range of adjustments, sleep mode, and overall form factor. In practice it’s a good station and definitely an upgrade over the old pencil iron, but has some issues. From a user experience standpoint, it displays inscrutable error messages and the skimpy manual included with it does not provide any help about those error messages. Initially I was not fully pressing the cartridge tip into the handle. The error on the display gave me no indication that was the issue, but eventually I decided to press harder and the problem was solved. In practice I find the two pointed tips to be too fine for the through-hole soldering I’m doing, but the chisel tip is too big. Or perhaps the issue is that the chisel tip doesn’t heat well on its tip, so I’m forced to use the broad edge and end up touching things I don’t want to.After just a few uses, the hooked tip stopped working. Again, the station displays an error message that doesn’t really help. The only thing I can say is it doesn’t display the error when the other two tips are used, so I must conclude that something went wrong with the hooked tip cartridge. The included solder roll holder is okay, but oddly there is only one mounting hole on the station, so you have to tighten that one screw down pretty tight to keep it from moving around. On the positive side, I do like that the temperature is easy to set and that the four buttons provide easy access to preset temperatures. The pencil holder works well, and the integrated sponge and steel wool holders are handy. The tip seems to come up to temperature quickly, although I don’t have a objective way to test that.Overall I think it’s a good soldering station at the price, but it could definitely benefit from some improvements.

SMD Soldering Station
Great for SMD work, small curved tip is the best!

Decent iron but, itâs very small for SMD ONLY
The size was a bit shocking. I was expecting the same size as a JDC but this was smaller and very lightweight. The handle heated up the tips quite quickly but the tips are very small themselves so itâs not really saying much. They do appear to be very good for SMD and other small work but I mistakenly thought the tips were larger (C245/T15 size, not C210).

If you need to solder very small components, this is perfect
This is sort of a specialty soldering iron that I use along with my main unit depending on what I am working on. For surface mount or smaller components, the fine point tip included with this iron has been fantastic. A curved point and a kind of a sharp chisel tip are also included. The sharp tip has scratched a couple of PCBs so I don’t use that one anymore. It might be useful for other applications. There’s a really interesting metal piece on top of the display that allows you to quickly remove a hot tip without touching it. The new tip just pushes in, there’s no screwing or turning to lock it in but it won’t fall out.Cable length is pretty good for a small workstation and there’s a pole that you can attach to the right side to keep it up above the unit. On the left side is a solder holder that works with standard size rolls. I put my 0.3mm solder in there and it’s a lot better than not having the holder since that small size gets used up quick. The controls are really easy to use and there are 4 preset temps you can set, perfect for quickly switching to a lower temp for more sensitive components. A knob in the center can also manually adjust the temperature and the current and target temps are clearly displayed on the LCD display. It works well and the display is a little extreme looking but it’s nice and easy to read. When you set the soldering iron in it’s holder, the temperature drops a bit to help save the tip from burning up if you don’t use it for a while. As soon as you remove it, it heats up again, it just takes a couple seconds to get up to temp. This iron can get up to almost 900 degrees F which is WAY too hot for small surface mount components. I usually am around 550-625 with this iron and it works great. I’m using lead free solder and it works great with the fine tip.A sponge and metal cleaning thing are included, and are built into the workstation. It’s a really nice unit overall, but if you are trying to solder wire thicker than 20 gauge or are working with larger components, you might want to look into a larger iron. This is the first soldering iron I’ve used that works especially well with very small components and the thin iron is easy to hold and maneuver compared to larger irons.I don’t have any complaints after using this for about a month now just about every day. I was a little concerned about where I was going to get new tips but they are called 210 cartridges and are readily available in different sizes on Amazon and other sites. The JBC brand is not cheap, I’m looking for a more affordable option that works well for when I will need to replace the current one.
