Fast and hot!
This is my first real soldering gun. I did quite a bit of research on these stations and coming from a solitary handheld iron, this is a huge step up. I just built a small Geiger counter kit, and the station performed flawlessly. Probably the best feature is the magnifying lens and led lighting. My vision up close isn’t so great anymore, and I found myself using the magnifier on practically every solder. And the grip arms came in handier than I anticipated. The aforementioned accessories may not be super useful if you had a big board to work on, however. Most amazing is how fast it heats up. I mean like 0 to 800F in less than a minute. The brass brillo-like pad is very intuitive. I did not make use of the sponge. The solder spool holder is adequate and a lot easier than holding the whole spool (as I used to). I’m not a huge electronics builder, but the hobby is gaining traction with me, so this was a good investment.

Works very well
I’m very happy with this purchase. It gets as hot as 480 degrees which is hot enough, although I’ve read you can go as high as 800 degrees when buying a machine. It has everything you need, extra tips, 4 alligator clips in the ends of bendable wire which I’m sure is going to become very handy. The more hands the better. I also bought the suction device because inhaling lead solder smoke is really unhealthy, and even though that works pretty well, I bought a clip on fan to make sure I don’t inhale anything that might make me sick. And if you’ve ever gotten sick after soldering you know what I mean, it’s like poisoning yourself.

Pleasantly surprised
I typically try to stick with well known brands when it comes to hardware like this, but this thing is actually pretty dang good! Automatic on/off, temperature memory, helping hands, a solid LED magnifier, and plenty more. Would highly recommend to anyone from a beginner to a pro needing a spare.

Great station, heats fast, crappy tip
Overall experience has been good. Easy to figure out, heats up fast, all the accessories are useful. My only complaint is how quickly the original pointed tip broke. I don’t know if it’s because it wore out that fast or if it is because it would catch on the back of the holster or both. Other than that, great product.

I bought this instead of a name brand and it is AWESOME
I have been using a crappy soldering iron for years and I really wish I had bought this so much sooner. The arms hold what you are soldering in place. The Magnifying glass has a light on it so if needed you can see up close with great light on what you want to solder. Sometime I just need the light . The controls work exactly as advertised and that I can put the iron (while hot) into its holder at any time is so wonderful. The cleaning pads and scratch pad are so useful for when you do a lot of soldering. This is well worth the money!

magnify light doesn’t work.
the magnifying lights don’t work which was a bummer but the soldering gun is great for electronics.

Upgrade!
Donât but the old school ones at the local hardware store. Spend the extra money and this will be a pleasant surprise and time saver.

It fits great on my work bench and does exactly what it should.
The temperature control works great, I love the clips to hold the pcb’s and the magnifying glass with a light is awesome, can’t believe after all these years I am just now getting one of these. Everything seems to work perfectly. I have the clips holding up a computer isa board and it seems to hold it pretty secure while I poke at it with the iron.
