The WEP 982 II uses a C245 compatible cartridge type soldering tip. The slip tip design allows for clearer view when soldering under the microscope. Station unit comes with a metallic groove to hot-swap the tip while in use. This unit is suitable for users who solders small micro components under microscope, or smaller circuit boards. (smartphones, laptops, drones, network routers, and more) NOTE: This station is not suitable for circuits large in size.
The precision PID program keeps the temperature stabilized in milliseconds, and this allows the tip to heat from room to 572°F in just 3 seconds. When the handpiece is placed inside the holder, the temperature cools to 392°F to reduce heating element wear and tip oxidation.
The temperature is adjustable from 194 to 842°F, and there are four temperature preset channels to save and quickly access without adjusting back and forth. Functions include automatic shutdown, digital temperature calibration.
Users can better monitor the status of the station via our LCD screen. Displays parameter includes set temperature, actual temperature, real-time power meter, preset channels, and more. The included solder wire dispenser allows user to store, and use solder wire easily.
This Soldering Iron Station is covered by our exclusive 1-year USA technical support, with 24-hour assistance from our dedicated team. WEP offers affordable range of C245 tip replacements. NOTE: this product is rated for 110~127V USA Specification, DO NOT connect this iron to a 220V power socket.

Great soldering station for the money.
I picked this up to replace a different setup that served me very well its entire life until it was stolen.I wanted to move to C245 elements to see what it was all about. I like the fact that my grip is closer to the tip, and that there are a lot of options for tips. Changing tips takes a second or two only, and the station heats quickly, so switching tips on the fly while working on something is pretty seamless. The reduced temperature when you put the iron in the holder is also great. All in all, this thing is pretty snazzy.

Excellent mid-range soldering station
I don’t solder a ton but am getting a bit more into it lately. Electronics have been something I’ve dabbled in over the years but have taken a back seat to most of my other hobbies. I have a basic “starter-kit” style soldering iron which works well enough but obviously leaves a lot to be desired. This soldering station is a huge step up for me. To level set, I’m a very amateur electronics tinkerer so take this review for that it is, the view of a relative newbie. With that in mind I have to say I really love this soldering kit. The adjustable temperatures really help when you’re dealing with different size components and/or the need to reflow a bad solder joint. I didn’t realize the main reason I used to struggle with reflow with my old iron was probably heat, with this I use the third preset when I need to reflow or de-solder a joint and it makes a big difference. Same with trying to heat larger components. I was struggling to solder on the legs of a USB-C connector until I dialed up the temp to the next preset, then it was far easier. The package includes a bunch of extras, most notably 4 tips, but it also includes a thing of lead-free solder, a spool wheel and a wire holder. I have not used the lead-free solder because I always read it’s harder to work with. Instead I’m using this with some rosin core Sn63-Pb37. But it’s nice they at least included it. I also haven’t really had a need for the wire holder yet so I have not tested that out.The built in tip-swapper is a nice feature for hot swapping tips. I will say I do find it quite difficult to get the old tips to release properly and I always feel like I’m pulling too hard. Likewise you have to push in really hard to seat the new tip which is a little awkward. I would prefer if instead of the force based approach it used some sort of button release but that’s a minor complaint. The included tips are a good variety, mostly on the smaller side. I’m mostly relying on the straight tip and it’s worked well for standard through hole electronics and larger surface mounts like microchips. I have not tried these on smaller surface mount components like surface mounted transistors because that’s above my skill level but I suspect they’d work.Overall I’m very happy with this soldering station as a beginner. It’s a massive improvement over my starter kit soldering iron and has re-ignited my passion for electronics. I’m excited to build more things now that I have this.

Will not heat up
I was really excited to use this soldering iron, but I was very disappointed when I went to use it and the unit would not heat up. I have tried everything that I can think of to get it to work, but nothing helped. The reason I am giving it 2 stars and not 1, is because this is a really nice soldering station for the price point. I most likely just received a dud unit. I hope that others have a better experience with this product than I did.

Would not heat up.
I donât do a whole lot of soldering, but find that when I needed to fix something, my old bulky irons didnât work well. This system looked perfect for the job.The solder does not state if it is flux core. However, it didnât work. Supposed to plug in, flip the switch on and it heats up, per the instructions.Nothing. I tried it 6 different times with different tips and channels.Nothing. No heat whatsoever.
