Works great
This tool is amazing it comes with lots of bits to put on the tip from fine detail to thick coverage. It heated pretty fast and got really hot. Used it on polycarbonate and it cut like butter

Nice beginners kit.
If you’re interested in wood burning as a hobby but don’t want to sink a lot of $$$ in just starting out, this is the kit for you.

Got the job done for this beginner
I only gave this 4 stars due to how easy it can be to strip the threads when changing tips. I haven’t stripped the threads, but the leaf connection doesn’t tighten down like others and when pushing down to burn the wood, it slowly loosens. I had to treat it very nicely. Some sensitive Sally’s on here are complaining about the heat of the handle, yes it does get a bit warm, but not to where I felt I needed to put gloves on. The unit stayed hot for me, I only had one job to do with it, took me about an hour to do. Maybe because I only used the unit for an hour is why it didn’t get too hot, but I doubt that was the problem. All in all, I felt this unit was good, Weller is a good brand and other than the weak threads when changing tips, worked for my needs.

Pretty good for wood not for anything else
There is no variable heating. You get one setting which is on and off. Actually I should say plugged an unplugged because there is no on and off. switch. When it comes to wood, it’s pretty good and also depends on the type of wood if you check out my videos. I gave multiple examples of wood. showing its varying between wood which is kind of an obvious. I originally got this because I was hoping to desolder things. But it does not work well for that At least not older thicker sodder. Newer microchips works ok. The different attachment heads are pretty legitimate.They, it also cuts decently well. With the razor tip it comes with. Ultimately, if you’re just trying to get something cheap woodburning, I would recommend it if you’re trying to get something solid with more control, I would check something else out.

Great tool for the price
I purchased an inexpensive wood burning tool set with branding letters and numbers for a Girl Scout project. The tool that came with the kit would not get hot enough to get a good brand. I then purchased this iron and had great success. Instantly hot enough to brand and cooled off fast to change out letters
