Paid for itself with the first use! Works great!
Simple to use, plenty of staples in various shapes. Used it to fix my bumper clips… worked like a champ. The final repair looks good. I recommend wearing safety glasses when clipping the legs as fly when clipped. I didn’t have great expectations but I am quite impressed with this tool; it works great!

This thing rocks
I’ve been ‘saving’ plastic items using this sort of system for decades – but this kit provides ALL the plastics in tidy, simple rod form (and labeled for type), with a handy tote box, a very quick-heating iron – and I don’t have to go scour thrift shops for cast-off wood burning pens and clip off wire fragments every time I have a batch of feed cups to fix.The gun can be laid on its side without the tip touching the table – no cradle to knock over. There’s an extra smoothing tip. The staples work great and heat up fast – one handed operation. There are adequate instructions, including photos, for operation by beginners.Things to know if you’ve never done this before:1. Have a fan going – the fumes are not excessive, but are not good for you either.2. Think of the light as a reminder that you are heating – not something to light your work.3. Use a headlight to light your work.4. Learn to ‘feather’ the trigger. As soon as you see fumes, it’s melted; let off the accelerator!I don’t know WHY there are an extra set of catches for the kit box included – but there are, and they can be melted for solder, too, lol.I am quite pleased with this.

Works great.
Cutters donât cut. Too dull. Plastic bagâs holding metal staples are difficult to access and spill out either too many or not enough until the entire contents are across the floor. Might be better in different colored coded containers. Heats up quickly and really makes strong bonds.

Now can forget epoxy
The gun works great especially the high power 200 watts.I used all the types of clips and found it heats very fast and sinks in the plastic with ease.With the clip in place if you tilt the gun it might fall out so I learned to spread the ends a little but not to much because you don’t want to pull out the clip if the plastic is still gooey.It’s best if you can slide clip in and not spread so fast pull out if you have a lot to do.. the longer you use it the better you get..The plastic rods will take practice but someone thought of everything you’ll need to do any project. The gun will get hot but not the handle so that’s good and even once in a while set it down and let it cool for a little.The flat iron work great but it takes time to lean the tricks to do a great job.Broken plastic Bring it On!

Best $35 ever spent on any tool!
I had anguish over a broken pivot joint on an expensive helmet that is no longer being made. Then I found this tool on Amazon. Not sure whether it would do the job but it sounded very promising. Addition to that, it was deliverable the same day. So I say why not.It was delivered on time then during my break, I took out my broken helmet, watched a video on Youtube someone using the same tool, then gave it a go. I was literally stunned. It worked beautifully and it appears to be of same strength as before.Best $35 spent on any tool. Now I am looking around the house to see if I can repair any other type of broken plastic item.

This is an amazing tool
I broke the corner out of my spoiler on my Camaro and could not find a new one as they were discontinued. My only options was to repair the one I have or buy an OEM that would look different. I chose the repair.Before finding this tool I was trying epoxy and even Krazy Glue but nothing was strong enough to hold up. Stapling these pieces together was genious and created a very strong bond. Now I just need a little putty and paint and nobody will tell the difference. Money well spent.

Works well, but it gets hot!
If you are working on a project that is going to require a lot of plastic welding, you’ll need to take your time. They do warn that constant use will heat it up. Part of the problem is they provided no venting for the big transformer inside the gun, so the heat builds up and is essentially trapped; cooldown will take a while if you get it hot.I remedied the situation somewhat by taking mine apart and drilling a bunch of holes through the gun around the transformer location (probably not recommended by the manufacturer!). I was able to occasionally blow compressed air through it to cool it much faster so I could complete repairing a truck dashboard that had cracked badly. This kit had everything I needed to do that repair, and over a month later that dash is still holding up really well.

I canât believe I havenât bought this years ago! Works amazing and you can fix anything plastic! It fixes the strength of broken plastic while you can make it look good too. Iâve used almost all of the staples and Iâve only owned it for a few weeks! I repaired a trailer front cap that was $6000USD to replace, this thing was covered in structural cracks and itâs stronger than before now and I saved a ton of money. Easy to use. JUST BUY IT!

We were very happy with the product when it arrived. Plenty of staples and plastic sticks were provided. The product seems nice and sturdy also. We were however very disappointed when we used it because the interior transformer got damaged on first use. The reason for this is that the gun happened to be a 110V type when in my country the mains is of 220V. There is no indication on the product information page or purchase page that this gun is of the 110V type because in such a case we would have ensured to buy a gun which was compatible with the 220V mains of our country!

We bought this to fix the wringer part of of our favourite mop bucket that has unfortunately been discontinued.Considering that this is an area where pressure is put with each usewe didn’t expect much but had hope.We were extremely surprised by the fix and the ookerdurability. We have now gone around fixing a vbunch of other plastic parts that we just thought we had to live with as broken (i.e. broken handle on the rice cooker and some planters) – thank goodness we save everything! Lol!The price is right, the product is fantastic. It will help you keep items out of the landfill and in use for years to come.
