This LED circuit board with an American theme is a creative work that combines patriotism with technology. After the surface-mount components are soldered, power is applied to form a running light effect to test the soldering quality. When power is just turned on, since the voltage across capacitors C1 – C9 cannot change suddenly, pin 2 of the NE555 is at a low level and the output pin 3 is at a high level. When the power supply charges C1 – C9 through R6, R70, RP1 – RP5 until the voltage across C1 – C9 reaches two-thirds of the power supply voltage, the level of output pin 3 changes from high to low. The internal circuit of the NE555 becomes conductive, and capacitors C1 – C9 discharge through pin 7 of the NE555. Until the voltage across C1 – C9 drops below one-third of the power supply voltage, the level of pin 3 of the NE555 changes from low to high again, and C1 – C9 is charged once more, thus forming a cyclic oscillation. Changing the values of RP1 – RP5 can alter the output frequency of the oscillator. The clock oscillation signal of the NE555 is continuously applied to pin 14 of the 4014. There are ten transistors connected to the ten output pins of the 4017 to drive ten LEDs. Under the action of the clock signal, the ten output pins of the 4017 alternately generate high levels, so that L1 – L10 are lit up one by one, forming the running light effect.

This circuit is an application circuit of NE555 + 4017. The NE555 forms a multivibrator, and the pulse oscillation signal is output from pin 3 of the NE555 to the CD4017 for counting. The CD4017 will sequentially output high levels on Q0 – Q9 along with the input pulse signals to light up the corresponding light-emitting diodes. These light-emitting diodes are arranged in a circle to form the effect of running lights. When the CD4017 finishes counting up to 10, the carry terminal C0 changes from low to high to drive the transistors Q1 – Q4 to conduct, thus lighting up the light-emitting diodes at the four corners. After the next pulse arrives, the C0 terminal returns to a low level, and the light-emitting diodes at the four corners are turned off. This cycle repeats.

Mostly pleased
Great kit for the most part, but when I decided to put together the Large American flag I’m short about 30 white 0805 leds. I havent got to the red or blue yet so don’t know how many of those I’m short on, but quite annoying! When you buy something that’s supposed to be all inclusive and you end up having to use your own parts or buy more parts online. seller should include all needed LEDs and a few extras as they usually do with most kits resistors for this specific item were all included including about 7 extras so I just assumed that would be the case for the Leds as well. Hopefully the colored sections have all the lights I need will update my review when I get to that point.

potentially good, terrible instructions, can be very confusing, no obvious power input
Overall the PCBs seem very nice. They’ve got nice silkscreens..sort of. They look good, but also lack labeling for power source points. This problem is further magnified by the lack of good instructions. I assumed the papers with each kit was the instructions for it, but nope. There is also no good guidance as to what each is actually supposed to do once completed.Overall, not a very good deal and definitely NOT for beginners. The title declares ” Learn Soldering Kit for Beginners” then one part of the description says “Professional skills, complete this kit, need a certain professional knowledge base, practical training experience. ” well which is it? Being of the experience side, I can tell you without a doubt this is not beginner friendly! You absolutely will need prior soldering experience, prior understanding of how to read a circuit, prior understanding of component functions etc before being able to properly use these. And they say if you have a problem, contact them! Well that sounds great, but there’s just no information to go from to start with. “NICE SUPPORT: There are component list, circuit diagram, principle description and finished product diagram. Any problems, please contact us for information. ” Where is that information exactly? Is ONLY available through contacting support? If so that is simply terrible.There’s no readily available information to tell you what voltage to use for each board, no power connectors, etc. It’s a box of parts you have to figure out. My plan was to give these kits to some teens for them to learn, but this is way over their heads. It’s a mishmash of chaos with the flag being the most obviously functional board.

Potentially a great kit, with a few changes
Quality wise, this is quite a nice collection of kits to practice your soldering skills, although I would probably give them a higher difficulty level than what is suggested. Unfortunately, there are several areas that could be improved.First off, instructions are virtually nonexistent. Each of the 5 kits is in its own bag (which is great) with a piece of paper identifying the parts, but that’s it. Customer service is available to help you, but personally I’d like to have either 1.) better instructions included, or 2.) a link to a pdf providing instructions.Second, there doesn’t seem to be any power connectors, such as the battery case that is shown around the 30 second mark in the preview video, which is a shame because it seems like something that should be included to make the kit complete. Furthermore, while the paper included with the flashing light board tells you that you need a 5V power supply, I couldn’t find anything that said what voltage should be used for the USA flag board.Lastly, I have absolutely no idea what the two 16LED & 20LED plates are for. They are in their own seperate bags, and I couldn’t find anything they seemed to connect with.
