Great so far
I picked this up for $22 during a promotion. I already have a Pinecil that I absolutely love. ‘Never in my life expected to own a soldering iron with an OS. This item compares very very closely to the Pinecil. Heats very very quickly with a 65W (20V) USB C source. For the $22, I received:The iron,A ceramic tip,Small stand with tiny sponge,Small coil of solderUSB C CableTweezersSmall set wrench (not sure for what)Barrel-type female power connector to male USB C adapter pigtailThree guitar-pick shaped spreadersSuper nice fitted zippered case to hold all components with zippered upper pocketCompared to the Pinecil, this is A LOT of bonus stull (espsecially the case) to receive, all for $22.Unlike the Pinecil, it does not appear to have auto orientation detection to auto rotate the screen. Rotation is done manually via the menu in the iron. Additionally, it does not auto detect voltage. To me, these are minor issues that can be overlooked. The unit is built with a screw-on cover that can conceivably be used when the iron is still hot.I’ve not yet used this and can’t speak to reliability. It seems well built. I love these types of irons. The tip is *similar* to that of the Pinecil, however the tip has a small bulge mid-shaft so that it can be held in with the hand-tightened locking nut. Prior to realizing that I needed to remove the locking nut, insert the tip, and then put the locking nut back on, I tried just inserting the tip and the iron’s screen indicated there was no tip. Having said this, I’m uncertain if other tips are available/compatible with this iron. Tips for the Pinecil will not work. However, this tip will work in the Pinecil.

Paired with a USB-C PD3.0 compatible 20v charger, this iron rocks!
If your input voltage is low, you will be disappointed. If you use the wrong USB-C cable, you’ll be disappointed. If you have a 20v USB-C PD3.0 charger and an e-Marker USB-C cable that supports 100W, you’ll be happy!Lightweight and portable, and it comes with its own case. The screw-on cover allows you to put everything away even when the tip may still be hot. The itsy bitsy teeny weeny sponge is cute but really for very small jobs. Use this for light field work, not for the bench.

Use >9V to be useful. 19V is best. Customer support great.
Reviewing Momssy soldering Iron Kit T65-K tip, PD 65W 96W Portable Soldering Iron:Update 1/13/2025: Momssy reached out to me to replace the soldering iron and said the tip of the coaxial power connector should be positive. They also said that there are PD2 type of USBC power modules which can do higher than 5v and that is what they intended this iron to be used with. The voltage setting on this iron is meant to control those type of power supplies. I am for now going to use a 19v computer power supply I have already to power it and consider getting a PD2 or better USBC device controllable power supply in the future.Customer support were really great to work with and read and understood every comment I made and had good suggestions to fix the issues I was having.I did some testing running this iron with different power supplies:19V – Took 10 seconds @ 2.8Amps to reach 700F and then held temp with 0.5Amps15V – Took 19 seconds @ 2.2Amps to reach 700F and then held temp with 0.5Amps12V – Took 37 seconds @ 1.8Amps to reach 700F and then held temp with 0.8Amps9V – Took 80 seconds @ 1.3Amps to reach 700F and then held temp with 0.9Amps5V – Took 3 minutes @ 0.8Vmps to reach 400F and then 2 more minutes it only made it to 428F maxMy conclusion is that you can not use this at 5V. I think it is pretty good at 12+ volts. It heats up very fast at 19v, so that is what I will be using. My Past Review:So I first tried this with high power 5V USB-C Power block. It took over 15 minutes to heat up and not to a level that I could really solder with….That is useless. Then I Dug up and old PC power supply at 19V and that worked great. Hot instantly. Then for this review I thought I would try some other voltages. Well, on my next test I tried 12v, guess I got the polarity wrong and burnt up the soldering iron instantly. Why would there not be polarity protection on something like this? So now I have nothing.Even though they say portable on this, just understand that you will need to plug this into a power source as there is no battery in this. And you will need something higher than 5v. I did not get to test how high, but 19v works. Make sure you get polarity right or you will burn this up instantly.I do like the tip on this and the weight/feel in the hand. If you could find a very long and flexible cord to hook to a 19v power supply with correct polarity, this might be a good option.
