HANDSKIT Soldering Gun Setting Mode:
1. Quick temperature adjustment

2. Temperature compensation adjustment

3. Temperature unit switching

delivers on heat, all-around great features
I recently picked this up to use when I need more heat but don’t want to drag out the big soldering gun or giant soldering iron. It claims 200 watts, and has digital temperature control.After using it a few times, I’m a huge fan. It’s got a very basic temperature readout (in Farenheit) and just three buttons for up, down, and power. The entire iron is just scaled up from a normal pencil iron, with the tip, heater, and handle all scaled up in size. The handle has flats on two sides which helps with control, which is important since the power cord is a thicker heavy duty cord (and it’s grounded!) so you sometimes need to apply a little twisting force to the pencil while in use due to the cord’s stiffness. (I’m using the chisel tip for better thermal contact, so I have to adjust and maintain the tip angle while using it)My only complaint is that I occasionally press a button on the handle while I’m using it It hasn’t caused any problems so far, but it’s a little annoying. But the buttons are conveniently large and easy to press, which makes them very user-friendly, so I don’t know how they could make them less likely to be pressed accidentally without compromising usability. My other digital pencil iron uses much smaller, stiffer buttons to adjust. I’ve never accidentally pressed them while using it, but adjusting is less convenient, so it’s a trade-off.At power-on, the initial power draw on the outlet was 230 watts, so this iron can truly produce the rated heat that it claims. I did notice that it takes awhile to stabilize its cycle, going from drawing 80-130 watts at at time to zero as it cycles coarsely. Also the handle does start to heat up after awhile of use. I set the temp to 700F for soldering #10 copper to PP35 powerpole ends, and it works great. It only takes a few seconds to overcome the large thermal mass of the heavy copper wire and copper/silver contact, In summary, it’s the ideal soldering iron for the job, and I really wish I had it earlier.My other new digital pencil iron claims 100 watts but only draws 35-45 watts even on power-on so it’s VERY nice to have high temp on tap for the bigger jobs I do. Due to the large thermal mass in this iron, it may not be as well-suited to smaller jobs though, especially the jobs that require periodic temperature adjustment. (the iron does take quite awhile to cool down after use)It came with a thick little booklet in many languages, but there’s not a lot of content in it in each language. But it’s nice that they included one. There are several tips, but only a single narrow chisel tip. I thought I would have preferred to use a larger chisel tip, but this iron has NO problem keeping it hot and transfers heat well despite being a bit narrow, so I’m getting used to it.

Not a toy and itâs hot !!
It works alright but be careful cause I tripped over something hit my other shoulder on the chain lock went to check the other arm while still holding the iron and as I checked for damages my hand went back to avoid my face and ended up burning my left arm , there is nothing wrong with the product just had a bad day with it , so be safe this is not a toy !

Failed to heat on second use
Failed to heat up on second use. Iron control says 895 f, but after 10 minutes could still touch tip with hand.

Largest soldering iron I have seen
Overall the soldering iron does heat up extremely fast and holds its temperature pretty accurately, My only complaint is that the actual iron itself itâs larger than the other common ones and I mean a lot larger just to find replacement tips this big is a challenge so if your trying to solder on something small like a iPhone or something with a small pcb save headaches and find another soldering iron

Got the job done
I was replacing some wire connected to some very large PCB pads mounted on an aluminum heat sink that my 20+ year old Weller 60W iron was not powerful enough to handle. This did the job and didnât break the bank.Would have given it 5 stars but the stand it comes with is so small and flimsy that it is almost useless.
