Practice
Works well, practice on scrap plastic before using on what you want to fix. Not only can the iron melt your plastic but the hot plastic can melt through what you are trying to fix.

Bumper fixed
Bought it to fix my cracked car bumper. It worked well. Gets very hot. Uses a standard 120v plug in. Does not come with a carry container. Easy to use and it holds. Comes with two tips. One has a hole in it so you can push plastic filler sticks thru it. The other is wider and melts a larger area.

Nice kit. Mine is not very hot
I just finally used this one. It’s a bit of a chore to get it to melt the plastic rod. I wish it was a bit hotter. Since so many people rate it as very hot I can only imagine that they are somewhat variable and it’s better with higher voltage. I get 113 volts here and it’s pulling about 65 watts at that V. 120V would be hotter, but I don’t think it’s a full 100 watts. Not the one I got.

Died on first use
After an audible pop and a spark by the handle, it died on the first use.

Works like magic with plastic
I’ve repaired two sets of headlights that had massive cracks in them with this tool. I’ve also repaired tabs that had broken off. I wish I would have bought this much sooner. Highly recommended.

Works as intended. Don’t expect to be perfect at first. Welded my son’s atv plastics with the help of staple kit. Turned out nice and strong.

This product simply burns your plastic and the plastic you want to ‘weld’ on. please spend the extra money and get a higher-end plastic welder if you want good results. Chinesium.
