Great quick fix.
Great set for the occasional user. I had a piece of a plastic dash break on a lawnmower at work. It was an old mower and would have required hours od disassembly to replace, beside the fact that the piece to replace would of cost more than the mower was worth. Ordered this kit, took 5 minutes to read the directions and 15 minutes later had the crack fixed. A little sanding and you cant even tell there was a problem. It saved me and the customer a lot of money and headaches.

Catalyst chamber goes bad
You end up buying this thinking its convenient with no wires. Problem is the catalyst chamber cannot hold heat (owned it less than a year) and it basically makes the whole device useless when that goes bad. No replacement pieces are available and when you go their site, their North America sales contact is not valid. Pretty useless now. The company is just not as good as it could be either.

Works great for a bumper cover repair, wheel well or possibly a bike panel.
This is the first plastic welding kit that I’ve ever used. While I feel that it works fine, there are a few things to note.First of all, plastic welding intricate things is almost impossible. The level of detail needed is just not attainable with this type of kit. You can try, and I’ve been successful, but it is very difficult. Secondly, it does take some time to understand how you get proper penetration with the weld. It’s quite easy to just slap some new plastic on top of the old and not get a real bond. That being said, the kit is wonderful for large segments. I purchased it with the intent of fixing some cracks in my wheel well which came out great. I can also see this kit working well for a bumper cover repair, or possibly a bike panel. The torch is a great idea and allows you a high level of ease in regards to maneuverability. The tank does run out a bit quickly, so it’s a good idea to keep a refill bottle handy. All in all I’m happy with the purchase. Additionally it has paid for itself in the time I’ve owned it. I simply wish that the process was more exact.

Finally able to fix broken automotive molding
Well, using this product I was finally able to put a bracket back on a piece of my dashboard. The Bracket affixes the panel to the metal frame in the dash and it did not look right without the fastener holding the panel in place. I was able to match the plastic code to one of the many provided plastic rods and using some wire mesh was able to make a strong bond where previously even two part plastic epoxy failed.

By electric
Great idea but very difficult to get to work right. I had this item for about 9 months. I bought to repair plastic interior parts on a 1999. I that it would be nice to be cordless. It works well when it is working. First it is difficult fill. It does not fill completely. It also has to be kept clean because it is very finicky to keep light. I wish I would have bought the electric model it would be much easier to manage.

Great tool but a bit expensive
I think it’s a great tool to have a home or the workshop. It welds pretty good and is very versatile in it’s application. Make sure you use the correct matching plastic. The price for the item I think is a bit expensive, would prefer to buy the tip and a separate soldering iron kit, make sure you buy the 75W portasol solder iron not the 125W bigger one. Will work with Ersa 75W iron as well.

Money saver
We have used this several times to fix broken items that in the past would have been thrown a trash. It pays for itself very quickly!

Horrible product don’t waste your money I found it easier they just heat up a screwdriver with a torch and apply it directly to the broken bumper with plastic this product doesn’t heat up to temperature and after a couple of uses it starts to come apart it’s very cheaply made biggest waste of my money
