This thing is addictive!
The first try out of the box I used it on a headlight assembly for a Buick with a broken tab. The initial repair didn’t turn out the greatest, but on the redo I discovered that using “welding rods” cut with a Dremel from another junk headlight with similar plastic with fibers in it was just what I needed to accomplish a great repair. I ended up using three different types of the included staples to build the tab and attach it to the body of the headlight. First, I dry fitted several long pieces of the salvaged plastic to resemble the tab. Next I used the wave staples to melt the pieces together. I used the rest of the “rods” to weld the old plastic to the new plastic pieces. The tab turned out really strong and looked great! The Dremel worked great with a tiny cut-off wheel to remove the remaining legs of the staples that were sticking out. I ran around the house fixing anything I could find that even remotedly looked like it was cracked. I have some clear, plastic organizer bins for my refrigerator that got cracked when I tried to pull them out when they were full. I tried Plastifix and ugly old QBond with little success to fix them. This stapler allowed me to melt the cracks together with wave staples. After I cut the legs off the staples with the Dremel, I concealed the repair with strips of black Gorilla Tape. The bins are fixed and look amazing! I’m totally getting more of these staplers for my hard-to-buy-for sons-in-law for Christmas. Best new toy I’ve bought all year. The bonus is that not only is it a toy, but it’s a USEFUL toy! Trial and error will show you which setting to use for each repair.Edit-I found something else to fix! This stupid Chineseium insulated thermal dish had the tab on it break the first time it was used. I tried: Super glue (fail), plastic epoxy (fail), Q Bond (fail), and Sugru (fail). I dragged out the plastic stapler and fixed this sucker! The corners are super strong (if not esthetically pleasing). When I get more time, Iâll get the Dremel with the sanding drum and clean the repair up a little. Side note: if you buy this plastic stapler (and you really should), make sure you have a Dremel to cut the legs off the staples with the little cut-off wheel attachment. The enclosed nippers in the kit are really sharp but canât get very close to cut the legs off flush after the repair.

Plastic repairs successfully accomplished.
I used this product to repair a Kubota plastic body on a tractor as well as a grass catcher on a John Deere mower. The product works great for repairing cracks or breaks in the plastic surfaces. The thickness of the plastic in each of the cases is approximately 1/8 inch in thickness so it was perfect for use of this Plastic Welding Kit. I liked using this product very much and was pleased with the results. A couple of things that you should be aware of is be aware of the thickness of the plastic that you want to repair. If the plastic is thin this would not be the product to use. Also, test the Plastic Welding before using it because the heat setting is critical for successful welding. If it is too hot you may burn through the plastic quickly when you need to be able to set the staple into the plastic for the welding to occur.

Liked the price. Didnât expect too much but was very happy with my decision to buy. Works as expected. Seems as if they should consider in the newer model, a temperature between the #1 & #2 position. 1 seems too low for some materials and 2,, too high. Overall, definitely feel like I got my moneys worth and bonus that it has a nice case that keeps everything together. I would buy it again if I had to and recommend it to others

Great item for me
Hobbyist, home owner usage, not sure how it would hold up for regular use, but this worked perfectly for what I wanted. Saved me from buying (at least for now) some 350 (times two) armrests for my classic car. I think this is going to hold for a good long while and maybe these reproduction pieces will get cheaper before I may replace them. Easy to use, I practiced once on a piece of junk, saw how simple this was and went to work on the actual part I needed to fix. A little planning, using the proper material (included) and the fix is lit not noticeable at all in my case. Looks pretty close to perfect, except that my car’s armrests are known to break so people like to look and be a pain about it. Any average person would never notice.

Fantastic little plastic welder!
Awesome little welder! Used this on a crack on the nose of my 2018 Skidoo summit. Seems to have worked very well. I’m very pleased with it! Had to use some different snips to clip the staples off but no big deal.Well worth the money!

Useful tool for plastic repair
After first use, build quality seems good. Nice assortment of wires. Having the 3 sets of holes to provide options for wire placement is a nice touch. The nippers would be better if they cut more flush. Overall a good tool to have for plastic repairs.

I like that there are 8 different types of wires to use. Most sets out there have only 3, 4 or 6 different types. This provides flexibility to use on inside, outside corners as well as many other combinations. The 5 temperature settings is more than other units and the 30 watt power rating is more than most. Other competitor units are only 20 watts and have only 3 temperature settings. Great kit! highly recommend! Has worked great so far on the repairs that I have done!

This here is an amazing little machine! If you’ve got a car, get one. If you have kids, get one. There’s always something to fix that you could be fixing so much easier! A friend had lent us their hot stapler/plastic welder (whichever term you prefer) and it was a pretty handy device! There were few minor drawbacks to that one but I had to have one too! So when I did my own shopping I saw this one, and even though it’s a good deal more expensive than the hand held gun type model (which works great for some applications), this one fits into all the awkward nooks and crannies you’d never get into otherwise. The many holed tip of the iron is amazingly handy, being able to angle your staple right is a huge help to keeping things looking tidy and the extra iron arrowhead tip is a nice touch to smooth over the areas you’ve stapled afterwards. It also works with the plastic Welder rods(not included) to melt plastic over your staples in a colour that matches (or at least comes close)!The tool box mine came in was quite dinged up and cosmetically imperfect, but the company was very helpful!I wish I had known about this machine years ago, I would have saved a lot of mess fixing kids toys and powerwheels with a certain two part epoxy. Just a hint though, if you do make a bit of a mess your first few times trying this stapler, the heat settings are a bit tricky to get used to, but until you do, JBWeld covers the melt lines and sands down to a smooth finish you can paint over. I’ll edit to add some pictures soon, I can’t seem to make myself stop finding things to fix! Originally bought for my man, and it’s his, honest… I’m just warming it up for him!

Does a great job fusing plastic have done about twenty or more repairs. Most repairs were for handles on handheld fogging machines so lots of stress on components bit the welds all held. Would have given five stars but right out of the box it appears the power switch has a loose wire or something and the light on it flickers and goes out then with some repeated toggles-will come on again. Would have returned it for a new one but didnât want to go through the hassle in hopes that over winter when I have time Iâll try to fix it. Had I not gotten it at a sale price Iâd been more upset than disappointed.
