Great product
I’ve had to deal with cracked plastic fenders for years with poor results from my attempt at repairs. This kit worked great. The best part was the metal wire “stitches”. It was easy to use and worked beautifully. The heating iron to melt the plastic was just ok. It really didn’t get hot enough to get the plastic to melt. In a YouTube video I watched, it recommended preheating the plastic with a separate heat gun before trying to melt with the iron, but I was not able to do that step. That could have made the difference. I still chose to give it five stars because the rest of the kit worked so well. After my repair job, you could obviously still see the crack but the hot staples really helped restore some structural integrity to the fender.

Does the job but looks bad
I bought this to fix my refrigerator door shelves. My family uses them as handles and then they break. If you haven’t used this before, like myself, the staples that melt into the plastic have to be melted off. That worked. It is more stable now. However, you have to clip off the excess wire off. The problem is that I can’t get it flush to prevent anyone getting hurt. (So that is one way to keep them from grabbing the shelf.) I had to get a grinder out to smooth the last of the wire off. I think I will just buy another door shelf next time.

Initial plug in will have smoke and burning smell of small iron.
Used to rebuild 5 out of 8 mounting holes on a truck front bumper air detector, plastic cover of 6 inches across plate for a floor safe. It works as expected. The storage case is for the tools. Needed a different case for supplies.

It works as advertised but it would be better if you could control the head on the soldering iron (plastic welder) because it gets to hot for some applications.
