【360° ROTATING PLANETS】The lights on the elliptical PCB board of the DIY soldering kit illuminate in turns, creating a rotating effect akin to small planets, which is quite captivating. The exquisite design of the white waterfall light, with its interplay of light and shadow, seems to narrate a fantastical journey through the universe. Paired with such a unique lighting fixture, it enhances the indoor decor ambiance, allowing one to experience the mystery and beauty of the cosmos.
【BRIGHTNESS ADJUSTABLE】DIY soldering practice kit comes with a circular PCB board equipped with a potentiometer, allowing you to adjust the brightness of the blue LED lights. You can customize the lighting to a comfortable level according to your preference. This is a fun and practical project, suitable for soldering enthusiasts to practice their soldering skills and understand circuit principles.
【SPEED SWITCH】The base of the DIY globe kit is equipped with a motor, allowing the globe to rotate 360 degrees, adding a futuristic touch to it. By controlling the motor switch, you can observe various aspects of the kit, as if being immersed in the universe. Whether as a learning tool or a decorative piece, this rotating globe is a creative and enjoyable choice.
【BUILT-IN THREE MUSICS】DIY planetary kit comes with three sci-fi-inspired music tracks, allowing you to immerse yourself in the wonderful spectacle of planets orbiting the Earth. The music playback adds dynamism and emotion to this planetary model, making observations more vivid. Equipped with separate control switches, you can freely choose to turn the music on or off, making the experience more personalized.

Great for a gift base
I used this to place a miniature piano and music stand that was once part of a globe which broke. The spinning base, lights, and music was convenient; The gift was well received and that I did this with my kid had the recipient happy for the time and thought out into the gift.

Fun kit of intermediate complexity.
Other than one fine pitch SMD, they only think that can be fiddly is the PCB connections. One if the pieces in my kit didn’t quite line up and need a bit of manual persuasion to cooperate. The rest of the kit is fairly simple and a fun build as some additional assemble is required. Not a fan of the copper springs to transfer power as they quickly lost efficiency and were causing the LEDs on the globe to act weird, cutting in and out as it rotated. I ended up using a bit of solder wick around the springs to act as a “brush” which greatly increased reliability.

Great project!
I bought this for one of my grandsons and we thoroughly enjoyed working on it together. The instructions were on point! It was a perfect project to bring to his classroom exhibit and he was proud of his work and looks forward to more.

not a child’s toy
This is very much an adult soldering kit, not a child’s toy. Nice practice kit.

Great learning and bonding experience with my son.
My 8 year old asked me to teach him to solder after watching me repair electronics, wires, LEDs, and replace hardwired batteries over the years. These soldering kits are not only fantastic for teaching/learning, it was also a great bonding experience for us. The assembly instructions do not come in the box, but there is a QR code that takes you to a PDF with step-by-step instructions with clear pictures. Follow the instructions carefully, making sure you do not mix up the resisters or the polarity of the LEDs, etc. Make sure you have a good soldering pen with adjustable temperature settings, soldering paste in a syringe for precise and easy application, solder wick incase a mistake is made or too much solder is used, some tweezers, and good lighting. A magnify glass and helping hands would be helpful, but are not necessary for this kit. Take your time and enjoy the build.

Inclusion of a tiny surface mount component is problematic
This seems like a great little kit, but I think the inclusion of a tiny surface mount IC is going to give many beginners trouble. By the time I could get it tacked down, I had long exceeded the safe solder time per leg and had made a royal mess of it at that.Assuming I had probably damaged the IC, I went off in search of a replacement KT148A/KT148A-8S IC, only to discover that I could not find a source for the chip. Disappointing.A similar kit I built had these tiny surface mount components already tacked down, leaving me to focus on through-hole components. I completed that kit successfully, so I guess I’m just not ready for surface mount work. This is not a bad kit. In fact, I think it’s a very nice one. Just understand that there is one surface mount component in this kit and it is very tiny. I required magnification and even that wasn’t enough to compensate for my poor technique.

Fun and simple kit
I do hold through-hole component soldering certification from the IPC, but I’m very rusty. I thought it would be fun to get some practice in with these very reasonably priced kits. This one is a fairly rudimentary board, but this one has some nifty moving parts. Rudimentary doesn’t mean it was without challenges. Some of the pads are pretty tight, so a small iron tip is recommended. I switched to one of my smallest chisel tips almost immediately, because some of the tight quarters. I had fun though, and it’s a bonus that it actually does something when you’re done.I really wouldn’t recommend trying to tackle this with a cheap soldering pen like the one shown in the ad. A soldering station is a good investment if you want to learn to do this will less frustration. I originally learned on a 60’s-era Weller soldering gun, so I guess it’s not the end of the world to use what you’ve got.

Quite small! But so cool
This is a really cool little project to practice soldering, I just wish it were slightly bigger so it is easier to see. The pieces are nice and thick, good quality and not flimsy at all!
