Great soldering iron!
I have a high end Weller soldering station on my workbench but I was looking for a quality portable soldering iron to carry with me in my RV. After reading many reviews Ianâs going through several cheap $10-$15 irons I thought Iâd give the TS-101 a try and boy Iâm glad I did!First off, this thing is small, about the size of a thick pencil. Plus the tip easily pulls out of the handle, effectively reducing the size (for storage) to about 3-1/2â long.Second, you can power it up with the included power cube off 110v OR by USB-C! (9-24v) I just use my charger from my Mack book- you need 90w for full output of the iron.Third, the iron heats up very fast. In about 9 seconds, goes into standby/cooldown when no movement is detected and reheats as soon as you pick it up again.Tips are replaceableSoftware/firmware is upgradable through the same USB-C port. (My iron came shipped with the latest available version)In closing, this is not an inexpensive soldering iron but it is not cheap in quality at all.I highly recommend it and would buy it again.

Excellent Little Soldering Iron
The TS100 is an excellent little soldering iron and performs very well. This iron heats up lightning fast, works extremely well, and has a nice suite of features available through the onboard software and OLED display. User interface consists of two buttons, A and B, and the operation and menu system is relatively intuitive. The instructions provided were not 100% accurate, but the instruction version shows 1.1 and the out-of-the-box software version installed on the TS100 was version 2.18. The instructions provided a good foundation and I was able to easily figure out the rest with a little trial and error. Although I have not tried it out myself yet, I understand there is also third-party software available for the TS100 which provides some additional features. The provided Allen key for the 1.5mm hex head screws on the body of the TS100 was rather tight and did not work all that well, but I recommend picking up a MIP 1.5mm hex driver to solve this issue (for clarity, the included hex key does work, just not as well as a nice 1.5mm hex driver).UY CHAN did a nice job with this bundle. Reading some other reviews, it appears some people received a 19V 3A power supply, and others a 24V 3A power supply; I received the 24V 3A power supply. Perhaps UY CHAN has recently updated the included power supply to the 24V model. Some people were complaining that the power cord for the power supply is too short. It is, in fact, only about 2-2.5 feet (~0.7m) in length, but you can pick up a 6 or 10 foot (2-3m) laptop power cord for cheap if you need the extra length. That having been said, the overall length of the power supply and power cord is probably close to 6 feet (2m); I found this to be sufficient for my needs. The stand works well, although some may want to put some sort of rubber base or feet on it to keep it from sliding around on a hard surface. The sponge provided with the stand is about 1mm thick and I doubt would work all that well, but I believe most of us are using a dry tip cleaner these days; those who aren’t probably already have a much better sponge tip cleaner. I haven’t yet used the LiPo power cable with the XT60 connector or the grounding cable, but both are of decent quality and I have no doubts they would do the job.Overall I am very satisfied with this TS100 bundle from UY CHAN and would highly recommend it for your soldering needs.

Great Iron!
Let me start by saying, I’m not an expert at soldering. I get around to using a soldering iron only a couple times a year, using one to solder guitar related electronics and cables on occasion.I was using a cheap soldering iron, which was super frustrating to use in terms if temperature control and adjusting settings. I heard a lot about this iron online and figured it was a sensible upgrade without going crazy. It did not disappoint. It heats up super quick, holds its temp really well, and is easy to use and figure out without having to take a deep dive into the instructions. It’s a pleasure to use compared to my previous $20-30 soldering iron and was a solid upgrade without getting into the $100-120 range of soldering irons would came with a dedicated control station. In summary, it feels like a quality piece of gear, works extremely well, and I would highly recommend this soldering iron for the casual user or someone that needs a travel soldering iron.

Works well – Grip akward
It’s more like 3.5 star for me.It works very well for small soldering iron. But the product is overall underdesigned. It feels like a gadget rather than a tool. The handle is quite awkward and imbalanced to hold. Easy risk of falling which is exacerbated by the lack of cable length. Square shape is not conducive to dexterity. And the interface is a mess to setup and lacks total intuitive use.But it works well at doing the job.I don’t have a lot of faith in its durability overtime. We’ll see.

This came with a power adapter that has a bit of a short cable (could buy a longer cord). I reflashed the firmware with Ralim’s IronOS for the TS100. Now I can program it from the device and the temperature reads great! Love using the custom firmware features:Low Temp when idle, Sleep time to power off if you get busy! All of these with custom settings. Quite happy with this iron. I just did a 50 x 80 mm board with 0603, MSOP and SOIC parts and it was a breeze to use.I also appreciate that the case is NOT metal, as I soldered for hours, with the handle not heating up. Where, I have heard and seen reviews of the TS80 heating up on the housing because it is metal. The other nice advantage is the generic DC barrel connector that can be wired to a bench top power supply. Quite nice and impressed.Cannot be overstated, the custom third party IronOS firmware makes this iron a dream to work with. Also, easy to undo if a problem arises.

This iron is small and light. I use it for small fixups and soldering jobs. It works well and has a good assortment of tips available as a separate purchase.

I was looking for simple soldering iron to replace a cheap one I had that came in a soldering kit for 30$ on amazon. That one died after using it a third time. Therefore, I decided to invest in a decent soldering iron and this one was highly recommended online. I most use a soldering iron to build keyboards and fix small tech. The packaging was pretty nice and it came in 2 box. One containing the soldering iron and the tip. The second had various cable use to power the iron (wall plug and usb c). It felt small, but honestly, I love this size now.The UI is very easy to navigate. Click on the first button and then hold to enable temperature adjustment. It starts at 300C. This soldering iron heats up very quickly and holds it’s temp well. You can easily find tips around 15$ on amazon which is awesome!Overall, I understand now why soo many people praise the TS100. For average consumers, this is the go-to soldering iron. There is the TS80 but it is not as powerful and it is more expensive on Amazon. Highly recommended for tech and keyboard enthusiasts!

Great tool for something so small. Almost pen size. Builds heat ridiculously fast. Sleep mode, standby, adjustable heat settings. Lipo battery lead for portability . Fast and reliable. Also portable. An rc hobbyists dream. Great price for everything you get. Beats my Blue Point butane iron hands down.Thanx

I solder mostly keyboard PCB components and keyboard switches. This little guy is great if you’re on the go at keyboard conventions or making a sale in-person and something goes wrong. Bring a battery pack with you and you’re ready for business. Keep in mind, your battery pack has to be able to output Qualcomm PD 3.0, at around 60W or so. I use an imuto 20,000 mAH external battery, and it works stock; no need for IronOS flashing. The included cable and stand is nice, but ultimately unnecessary. The cable itself is far too bulky compared to the actual size of the soldering iron, and the stand cannot keep the iron from rolling around. Actually, I find that just putting the plastic ring stand included in this kit does a far better job of keeping my iron from accidentally touching and burning things that it shouldn’t than the stand. I’ve knocked over the iron a few times while on the actual stand.
