How can I distinguish the colors of these LEDs?
Test by 3V battery or multimeter. The pin is connected to the positive (negative) lead of the 3V positive electrode, if the LED lights up white after connecting the 3V power supply, it is a white LED, if the light is colorful, it is a color LED.
What if the light does not flicker after the power is connected?
It may be caused by voltage instability. Just connect the power supply again.

Fun kit but frustrating
I enjoyed putting this kit together but as some other reviews stated it was short 6 white led lights. The kit requires 36 led lights and there were only 30 included. I was able to use some multi colored lights I had left over from a previous kit but it is extremely frustrating when the kit doesn’t include the necessary parts.

Easy to assemble kit with slight confusion
Most kits like this come with several extra parts but this one has just enough to put it together and not all the pieces you would expect. The common frustration is that the color lights and the white lights are not clearly labeled so you need to pay attention to which bag is which when you pull things out and count to double check which ones have color. There are not enough white lights to do the full out side so you have to decide where to use the extra lights with color. I put them on the back side behind the trees to back light them and found this worked well. The printed instructions are not great but I still prefer this to a sketchy QR code I have to scan.

My kit was missing six LEDS
I tested the MIOYOOW Christmas Tree Soldering Kit with a 245 sized soldering iron with knife tip for the majority of the components. The single SMD component (KT148A voice chip) was installed using a hot air station and soldering paste. This is a fun kit and absolutely will help you practice your soldering skills. Overall, I liked the product but I unfortunately have to give it a low rating due to a few issues. 1) It was missing 6 of the white LEDs required to complete the project; 2) It intermittently will have only a few of the white LEDs lit in a static location instead of the rotating pattern it is supposed to display; 3) There are no spare parts in the kit. Most kits throw in an extra LED, and extra screw, etc. just in case you drop something. In this case it was exactly what was needed and as I said in #1, it was actually missing multiple LEDs; 4) While the instructions were fairly good with pictures, the board markings were less than ideal for someone learning electronics soldering. The LED markings were more like a radial capacitor marking than an actual LED marking and there were no plus/minus symbols either. The instruction diagram indicates the solid white round hole is the shorter LED leg (negative/cathode) and the square pad is for the longer leg (positive/anode). While you can complete the project by following the instruction diagrams, better labeling on the board would be helpful.

Great starter project to teach my great nephew on!!
MIOYOOW Christmas Tree Soldering Kit, LED Flashing Xmas Tree Mini Christmas Forest Soldering Practice Kit with Music, DIY Santa Claus Elk Christmas Electronics Kit for Home.Been awhile since I had done one of these little kits……..really enjoyed time spent showing Great Nephew how to assemble and use of a soldering iron. This was fancy compared to the ones I had done years ago!!! He really enjoyed the process and that it plays a little song. So, we have started decorating for Christmas already!!

Missing parts. So kit is useless.
Came with too many color leds and not enough whites leds.

Lots of missing and incorrect pieces
I will start with my thoughts on the project as a whole…which I thought was fun and I do think it would be helpful for someone who already knows how to solder but looking to kind of refine the skill. It’s simple enough to figure out for the most part, but prior soldering knowledge is definitely needed. You’ll also want to make sure you have plenty of solder on-hand because, as one may expect, it uses quite a bit to get everything put together. You also NEED to be gentle with all of the parts because I actually managed to melt a pad off of one of the connections for one of the trees just by tinning it. I was worried that my set wouldn’t work at all after doing all that work, but luckily it still works with only one side connected.I was also missing I believe 6 or 7 of the white LEDs and had 5 extra of the colored ones (which you also have no clue which is which until you power up the board and get the lights flashing, as they don’t label either bag and both look exactly the same). And the instructions are very confusing at times and not clear at all, so make sure you read through them carefully before even starting so you can get things figured out before it’s permanently affixed to one of the boards.I also find it very weird to include the Santa and Reindeer boards to solder on to the base when neither of them do anything. I feel like it wouldn’t have been that hard to put some lights on those as well…but that’s just an opportunity missed. So…wrong amounts of parts, cheaply made circuit boards, difficult to follow instructions, and a lack of attention on this really make me suggest that you look elsewhere, unfortunately. Unless you are looking for just something to practice on and are not really worried about the end product actually being accurate, then go right ahead and give it a go.

MIOYOOW Christmas Tree Soldering Kit
This Christmas Tree soldering kit has more components than I realized when I ordered it. As with most âbeginnerâ kits I see, this one, while a good one for those starting out in this soldering hobby, still requires a bit of knowledge in addition to lots of focus and patience. You could jump in without that knowledge but lacking it will significantly slow you down. Either way, I still encourage anyone interested to challenge yourself and get this kit. The instructions, while not TOO simple, are adequate to get you through it. And, of course, the payoff will be a pretty Christmas ornament.

Fun build for those with intermediate soldering skills
Most of this kit is pretty much beginner level. The one component that I’d say might be a little difficult is the KT148A sound chip. This is a surface mount device and it is pretty small. Do not let this deter you from purchasing the kit, however, as SMD technology is in everything, and if you are considering an eventual career in electronics repair, you will encounter such devices daily. Watch some YouTube videos on surface mount soldering to help you develop your technique, and you’ll do fine. Search for videos from “Branchus Creations” and “Mr SolderFix”. That’s how I learned, and it was well worth my time.
