Don’t buy… Defective
Original and the Replacement Soldering iron BOTH had bad soldering handles giving the error code of “H-E” meaning it could not “see” ANY soldering elements/tips… I kept the second replacement unit and dis-assembled the the handle to locate the problem and then repaired the bad connection… I now have a working soldering station… I had to cut into the blue portion to relieve the press fit assembly so it’s a “no return” item… Not something an average buyer could do…

Best soldering iron I have ever had
I’ve been a fan of Hanko pistol-grip models for a long time. No more, this is much better.Goes from idle to ready in the time it takes to remove from holder and apply to work. Awesome!Tip is good for tiny tiny parts, built in cleaner is great.Stop hesitating, buy now!

Station mostly works – sleep function does not work with supplied wire
The blue wire supplied to allow the nest to put the solder iron to sleep has no continuity. Canât tell if it even has a wire in the insulation. I did some troubleshooting and can use my own supplied wire to connect the nest to the controller and the sleep function works.Did my own repair and am happy with the sleep function and the solder station in general.

Bad batch?
Both the iron & the menu system didn’t function out of the box – shame ’cause I really liked the form factor and size. I noticed another review from this past Oct. with similar issues; maybe a bad batch?

Great little station overall
This station is quite nice considering its size and affordability. Wish there was irons like this when I was a beginner. I’ve been using it for micro soldering and have no complaints. Heats fast, works well. The stand is even high quality. The smoke mentioned in manual is simply the tip tinner they used, ensuring it will be tinned on first startup.
