This machine has over temperature protection. If the temperature is set to 480 degrees Celsius and the 3mm nozzle may be overheated, S-E will be displayed. S-E will also be displayed if the heating is heated for a few seconds without wind when starting, so that the handle will not be burned. The sensor will also display S-E if there is no signal with wind or heat.If it is found that the temperature does not reach the set temperature, temperature calibration can be performed. There is a screw in the slot on the side of the controller that increases the temperature value clockwise and decreases the temperature value counterclockwise.

Easy to move around.
This unit works exceptionally well for me, from the ease to move the unit around to the time it reaches the selected temperature. This unit has easily attachable heads that narrows the heat path that’s emitted.

Update: Short term
Update: I wanted you to know that the stellar reached out and replaced the defective unit. Iâve waited a heartbeat before updating this review to verify that the heat gun was actually working long-term now and Iâve had no issues today and am thrilled the seller replaced it for me. I think that says a whole hell of a lot about them and their willingness to stand behind their product.Original review: I do not recommend anyone waste their money on this product. Although it works good short term, in less than 90 days it overheated on two occasions refused to get to temperature on a dozen occasions in simply shut off twice. These are all dangerous situations and I have ceased to use this product. It now is an expensive paperwork on the desk. I hope this helps somebody.

It is so good, it paid for itself.
I used this to extract enough ICs to almost buy it two times over. works great. before buying this, I had purchased a solder sucker, and now, this hot air rework station makes the solder sucker look more like an expensive stick of metal and plastic rather than some desoldering device. works great!

Does the job in small package , needs calibration
I picked this up for heat shrink usage and setting it for 100-130c is easy and it seems to hold the temp well. It also heats up quickly. The English instructions are pretty good and useful – so read it.Important : calibrate the Temperature. Got a digital pencil thermometer out to measure the air temp emanating from the tip , and saw the measured output was 10c below the set temp. Adjusting the calibration is a specific 3 step sequence of button presses. Setting it to a 10c offset then had the heater blowing 10c warmer at the same display temp. So then a display 130c was producing a 130c reading on the thermometer close to the nozzle of the hot air gun.Adjusting the temp and fan blow speed also quite easy and these settings are then all retained after power off. Now when I power it up itâs doing what I want: 130c at a medium fan speed.The compact nature is ideal. Easy to sit it next to my separate solder station.Note to new owners: the way the stand operates isnât immediately obvious. The way you set the stand base is so that the nozzel of the hot air gun points UP and AWAY from you. The opposite of how a soldering iron stand/holder is oriented.Itâs important to get this correct because the brilliant design of the hot air gun is that it will shit down to idle standby heat (and run the cooldown fan to get there) by detecting it is inside the stand/holder and it must seat the correct way. I think magnets in the base and sensors in the gun make this happen. So if you use the stand the wrong way around (where the nozzel points down and away) the pencil wonât sense itâs in the holder and not switch to standby. You will then just hear your table/mat.

Compact, fits in small zipper case, works great
Some folks, when it comes to hot air, prefer all functions (heat and air flow) to be on one device. This device does not offer that. I think that the configuration that this device uses makes more sense as the wand can be more compact and feels more precision with the heat and air controls on the power brick. Allows for more compact storage and I particularly like the quck-change tips for concentrating the airflow. The zipper case in the photos is less than 10 inches long. This unit heats to target temperature very very quickly. One of the best value precision heat guns on Amazon. Can be used from SMD solder work to heat shrink to you name it. Also good for removing stickers without burning what’s underneath.

It does the job
It works well, but with every use, the plastic part of the product melts. The photo shows the damage after just two uses.

Device does not work for intended use..
Even at 380C with Fan Speed 8 for several minutes, solder would not melt. Temp readings also swing wildly. I’ve used other guns in the past and this one has not met expectations.

I don’t do a lot of SMT repair anymore, but I still need a hot air gun that I can precisely control the temp and air flow. This tool fits that bill perfectly.

Es más de lo que esperaba, lo probé durante un tiempo para ver si realmente era funcional y lo es en todos los aspectos, entrega el calor marcado y es muy práctica la manera en que está reducida la estación, es lo mismo que una estación grande solo que en esta esta reducida su fuente para trabajos sin mucho espacio

I purchased this rework station to avoid using a flame to do heat shrink on wires and electronics, but I find myself using it for many different situations where the controlled application of heat is handy. Excellent product!
