SteelStik is a hand-mixable, steel-reinforced, non-rusting epoxy putty that quickly repairs or rebuilds anything made of metal. After mixing, it forms an industrial-strength polymer compound that can be molded into shapes or used to build up, patch and repair steel components. SteelStik sets in 3-5 minutes and after 60 minutes, can be drilled, tapped, machined, ground, filed and painted. SteelStik cures to a dark grey color, is rated at a tensile strength of 900 PSI and will withstand temperatures up to 300ºF.

This stuff is easy to apply and works well.
Have used the SteelStiks mostly for extending the life of old auto exhaust systems. It plugs up decent sized holes and can act as a method of “fusing” two exhaust pipes back together when a break occurs.No exhaust repair lasts forever (except maybe if you have a welder) but these SteelStiks have extended the life of many an exhaust system.You tear off the amount needed for the repair, kneed the epoxy putty until thoroughly mixed then press and apply.The putty begins to harden somewhat quickly so don’t dawdle. You can apply new putty atop old putty as well.Have used SteelStiks for temporary repairs to water pipes/lines as well as other metal lines (except brake lines). We keep a couple of Stiks around for just such occasions until you can get replacement parts etc. Also keep 1-2 in the vehicles if/when the need arises.

Bought this as my metal hand railing was rusted in one part. Cleaned it by grinding, mixed this, shaped it, and painted. Material hardens really well too.

Effective Solution for Repair Needs
This is a really great product because of its versatility and strength. The fact that it’s safe for contact with water and resistant against chemicals makes it a go-to for many of my repair tasks. I love that it can be sanded, drilled, and tapped once it cures, which only takes about an hour. Plus, you can mold and shape it to fit your specific needs. The one thing that could be improved would be its adhesion on certain surfaces, but it’s a minor gripe compared to all its benefits.

Does double duty — fills AND glues
Decided to try this in hopes it would not only fill an area but also attach/glue two other pieces together. Easy to handle and apply, it worked very well in both applications.

Great when duct tape and glue won’t work.
Very strong and sticks well. I used some to make hooks for my outdoor concrete wall, and attached a light net to it to keep hawks and owls away from my cats. (I saw hawks watching them and got freaked out.) We live in an apartment where we can’t drill holes into the concrete in order to hang things. This epoxy putty was perfect. I molded the hooks with a 180 degree curve so the net can’t slip off in the wind. They dried in just a few hours.I wouldn’t hang anything heavy from my hommade hooks, and I wouldn’t trust the net I hung to stand up to pressure, or cat-escapes, but I just needed the hooks to stay in place through wind-storms and rain. We live on the third floor so I’m not worried about kitty-escape-artistry. If a bird-of-pray does try to attack them my thin net will tangle it up long enough for the cats to run away. So far, I guess the hawks saw the net because they are no longer starring at my balcony like a restaurant-menu (although I still hear them all the time. I hear great horned owls too.)I also used a good amount of this putty to wrap around a power cube outlet (indoor.) The conuit is split at the joint, exposing the wires inside (which still have their individual wraps in tact.) Tape won’t hold it together in this case, because the cable moves too much. I wrapped the putty along the cable, over the break, and then molded fingers to extend around the cube. It works well, and the wires are protected again. $$ saved!

Purchased many times – flawed
Iâve purchased this product which I love many times before for specific jobs. Last couple times it failed, I purchased a tube of the Steel Stick from Loweâs and after mixing it got very warm and worked impeccably. In short the just tried another batch purchase here and it doesnât warm up leading me to believe something is not right – maybe aged? Bummer as I like to get them delivered vs running 20 minutes away to the store.

I bought this to repair a ceramic lamp that I couldnât fix with crazy glue or gorilla glue or ceramic glue. Itâs a putty and not sticky so you have to try and smear the puddy along the break line and squeeze the two broken pieces together. It feels as if it wonât work because thereâs no stickiness to the putty. But let it sit for a day and it ainât going anywhere. This stuff makes a stronger bond than what youâre trying to fix is made of. I used it to fix the wire harp of a lampshade and while you have to use too much of the stuff to create a blob big enough to join the two pieces, the bond is better than the original solder, it looks like crap BUT you can sand it down. It dries black. Not clear. But it works like nothing Iâve seen before. Amazing product. Saved me tons fixing instead of buying. Well worth having on hand. Also you can use a little bit and the rest stays fresh in the tube. No issues with drying up. I have had this stuff for 3 months. Iâve used it 3 times. And itâs as fresh as the day I opened it. I am just a customer. Not a reviewer. I donât get paid for reviews. I comment on purchases that are awesome or a ripoff and not much in between.

Make sure you roughen the surface first before applying this, otherwise it wonât stick. Sand it beforehand and works much better. Thereâs a short window of time when it bonds strongest.

Una ves mezclado la masilla cura muy rápido y tiene excelente adherencia en varios tipos de superficie. Lo usé primariamente para el relleno de agujeros de tornillos que se habÃan aborcardado (incluyendo uno grande de un cortinero que se desprendió con todo y taquetes) y funcionó muy bien (los reinstale antes que se endureciera y quedó com si fuera un taquete muy grande).
