WORK ON YOUR SOLDERING SKILLS: 3D Christmas tree DIY soldering kit is designed for people OVER 15 years old, aimed at improving users’ electronics knowledge and soldering skills. It is perfect for After School Program and STEM education. You will need a set of soldering tools(not included in the product) such as electric iron, solder wire and so on, to finish the assemble and soldering process.
RGB LED LIGHTS: The solder practice kit will become a beautiful flashing Xmas tree when assemble complete. 36PCS RGB LED diodes will make a bright, colorful and wonderful light at night. Not only for practice, the tree can also be a creative present and nice decoration, especially in Christmas.
POWER MODE: DC 4.5V-5V working voltage can be powered by 3 x AA batteries or USB power adapter directly (Comes with the battery holder and USB cable).
CLEAR MARK: The components name are well marked on the PCB board so you can easily find where the component should place.Detailed English user manual and responsive service team, enable the assemble process easier for soldering beginners and electronic learners.
CAREFULLY CHECK: If some leds don’t light, please make sure all components are in right direction and correct place. Please check if there are some solder points are in poor connection, which is very important when testing.
Customers like the build quality, fun, and quality of the science fundamentals kit. They mention it’s a nice project, super durable, and well-organized. Some also say it looks great and provides good soldering practice. However, some customers have mixed opinions on the ease of assembly and brightness.

Great beginner project with some help
I bought this as a start kit for my eleven year old that was interested in learning to solder. The included instructions would be difficult to follow for a beginner but the instructions in the link/QR code include pictures with highlights and make it rather simple to follow. As pointed out in other reviews, there are solder pads on the top and bottom of the board so you can solder from the top if that makes it easier for you. Pay attention that the squares are the positive side of the components for the LEDs and capacitors. The hardest part was probably clipping, stripping and soldering the battery wires as they are extra long and can be trimmed to length for a cleaner look.It is really nice that it works with batteries or a cable as my child was excited to bring it to school and show their friends this project and then at home we can leave it plugged in for a longer display time. The LEDs are all multicolor so it doesn’t matter which LED goes where and the final product was quite beautiful as a decoration for a beginner soldering kit. Much better than the blinky light kit I started with when I was younger.

Use the Downloaded Instructions!!
This is a good little kit for someone beginning to learn to solder. It’s a double sided plated through hole circuit board so it will be harder to damage it than a single sided board. There aren’t too many different components so it’s harder to mix things up. For example, all the capacitors are the same value, all the transistors are the same value, all the LEDs are identical, only the resistors are different, and there are only 3 values, so not too bad.Like my title says, don’t bother looking at the directions that came in the box, the values of resistors that are given there do not match what components come in the kit. Often times, exact values are not super important, so I have a hunch that they figured it would be easier to package fewer values as long as the kit still works, so they updated the values but didn’t change the instructions for some reason. There is a link on the Amazon item page under “Technical Specifications” that does a really good job, especially making sure that you put in the LEDs correctly as they are polarized.I really like the colors in this kit. I have built one other similar tree, and this one was easier because with the downloaded instructions, everything went in without guessing. My only slight complaint is that the colors change a bit too fast and change speed too. I think this might be adjustable with different sized capacitors, but I haven’t reverse engineered the circuit yet.All in all, this really was a fun little kit to build. Took me about an hour, although I have some soldering experience, but if you wanted to do with with a child, for example, to teach them to solder, I’m sure you could do it in an afternoon or maybe 2 if you really took your time. Works as a night light too.

Great kit and fun to build!
I have just finished an enjoyable time with one of my grandsons building the ICstation 7 color 3D Christmas tree kit. More about my grandson later. The kit has high quality PC boards and the components are also of good quality. There are instructions that come with the kit and you can build the tree following those instructions. I would strongly suggest that you go on-line down load the full instructions at http://images-na-ssi-image-amazon.com/imges/l/A1wVmKhFfTL.pdf if this does not work scan the QB code to get the full instructions, it is well worth your time. The instructions are very clear of each step. I had no problem with any of it. It has been awhile since I worked with resistors and I needed to find a copy of the color code used on resistors. Make sure it will print in color as some will be in color on the screen and when you click to print you will get a B/W image. If it is printable in color it will come up in color. It has been way too many years since I used the color code for resistors, so it makes a handy reference. The only short coming and it is more me the supplier is the use of a bit if wire from a resistor. Make a long story short. I cut my leads to short, I had no leads to reach around the power socket. Most likely I will replace in after the holidays. It would have taken about an hour to an hour and a half. Working with my grandson, he is six, it took a bit longer. It was his job to bend the leads on the components and place the components on the PCB. This was all done with my supervision. He did very well for a six-year-old. We all survived. I did all of the soldering but showed him how it is done. That way, on the next kit he can also try his hand at some soldering.Over all I would encourage anyone who would like work with electronics to start with this well-made kit. Adult or child. It is a win/win for everyone.
