A really project saver
I wanted mountains that my O gauge trains would run through. I decided to use the preformed rock covers that are made to cover outside pipes and other large objects depending on the size rock you need. I had to cut off the top of the rock so I could put the support inside of it for the train tracks. I then needed to put the top back on and was not able to find a way until I saw this plastic welder. Problem solved.

Works pretty well, but seems to be meant mostly for temporary holding/securing…
As I mentioned in my headline this does work pretty well, but the filament isn’t super strong/durable so I would mostly recommend it for cosmetic repairs or temporary purposes such as automotive work. Unfortunately I used this a couple of times and I can’t seem to remember where I put it or else I would give a nice demonstration video, but I will say that it is very easy to use.Overall, I really can’t recommend in favor of nor against this product because it really all depends on what the intentions are that you have for it. When I do find this, I will try to remember to post a demonstration video to portray the claims I’ve made in this review.

Works Good
The kit comes with 500 staples, providing plenty of supplies for multiple repairs. The USB charging feature is convenient, allowing for easy recharging without being tethered to a wall outlet, which adds to its portability. The included storage bag is a nice touch, keeping everything organized and easy to transport. While the welding process is straightforward, it may take a little practice to achieve the best results, especially for those new to plastic welding. One downside is that the heating time might be a bit longer than some users expect, so patience is required. However, once it reaches the desired temperature, it effectively melts and fuses plastic materials.

More plastic stapler than plastic welder
When I ordered this item, I had seen some things on the Internet about plastic welding, which involve, essentially, a soldering iron and some scrap plastics that are melted in order to make a plastic repair. This wasnât like that. This is more of a plastic stapler â Iâd say something like this would be most useful for repairing cracked plastic as opposed to trying to put two pieces of plastic that have completely separated back together again.As long as your expectations are properly set going in, this is a nice quality set. The tool itself comes with a hard zippered case that fits all of the accessories and extra plastic staples (it comes with quite a few) â my only complaint is that the instruction manual, which comes in a nice ziplock bag to ensure that it stays clean and dry, is too large to put inside of the zippered case without folding it up. So, I folded it up. That was too bad; I hated to crease it, but there was nothing else to do. Seems like someone should have seen that coming.

Great little tool for repairing plastic… You’ll need to make the price make sense for you
You’ll want to practice with this a bit before you use it for real. There is no temperature control, other than your own judgement, but after you get proficient at making the staple hot enough (but not too hot), you’ll be able to repair a lot of items you’d otherwise throw away.While I like this tool a lot, the $50 it was listed for strikes me as a bit much. Most of the things I’d fix are not terribly expensive to replace, and so rationalizing a $50 outlay to fix a $10 item is a bit hard. However, you may have more expensive items around the house, or a lot of items that break often (or this price may go down), and if that’s the case, add a star and consider this recommended.

Nice and portable!
I have several plastic welders that require it to be plugged in. I got this specially that I could take with me where I wouldn’t have a plug. IE: Doing work in the shed or outside somewhere.This takes all the standard sizes of plastic staples, and it heats up rather quickly. I’ve yet to let the battery drain completely but so far this seems to be a nice put in your work bag item and have it just in case you come across something that needs fixed with staples.Everything comes in a carrying case which is nice. I wish more manufactures did this instead of just a bag. It’s nice to chuck it somewhere without it having to worry about breaking.The little snips that are included are OK, but not great. I prefer the staples that you can break off by just bending the legs until they break clean.
