Pretty nice soldering station, the solder holder didn’t really work for me
I’ve been looking for a soldering station like this for a while and decided to test this one out. The temperature appears to be pretty accurate when compared to my other irons. It’s also nice that you can switch between F and C. The auto off is also a nice safety feature.It came with 2 different tip cleaning tools. You get the wire wad and the sponge which is nice. You also get a decent solder sucker.I use more precision solder for my board work so I wouldn’t typically use a roller setup like this comes with but I did test it out. The metal bracket didn’t fit well into the space and actually causes the left side of the base to raise up. Since it wasn’t a feature I planned on using I took it back off but that part feels a bit like an after thought.The helping hands on it tend to unscrew a lot and it is hard to get them really tight. I had to use loctite on it to keep them from doing that. Now that they are locked in they work pretty good but it’ll be interesting to see how long these keep their rigidity. One of mine is already feeling a bit loose.Overall this does a good job with soldering and comes with a nice set of tips for various jobs. I’m happy with it so far.
