Works well
Pro Nice and easy to useCon Temperature at the tips are lower than what the display says could use a better way to calibrate it.

Fastest way to rework SMD passives yet!
This is a game-changer for quickly swapping out SMD resistors and capacitors, compared to using hot air or a hot plate. Faster and more precise.Removing components is super fast and easy, without affecting anything else nearby. Installation is improved too, although I still use regular tweezers to hold it in place while soldering with this.

A cheap alternative to the professional tools but it isn’t very good
I needed to remove two 0201s that were epoxied to the board in a hard to reach area where a normal fine tipped soldering iron wouldn’t work without damaging nearby heat-sensitive components. So I needed hot tweezers for this job so I could desolder both ends, grip the part with the iron tips, and twist and lift it off.The first thing you notice when you unbox these is the cheap build quality. It looks cheap and feels cheap. The registration between the two soldering tips is totally off so they don’t meet when closed, but overshoot each other. You can loosen the collar nut to try and adjust the tips to meet but it’s very difficult. It’s styled to look like a Hakko part but you can immediately tell it isn’t.The spring loaded part of the soldering iron has a very loose fit with a lot of slop. So you will need to not only squeeze it to bring the tips together but also apply vertical pressure to try to make up for the looseness. This makes working with tiny parts very difficult. The tips themselves were poorly formed and didn’t really meet at a point either, one was more curved than the other. The LED screen is behind a very opaque piece of ‘transparent’ plastic that makes the numbers hard to read, plus they aren’t very bright. I didn’t check if the thermocouple temperature was being reported accurately, I can just say it was ‘hot enough’ to melt solder.I think this tool is probably OK for 0603s and bigger. For my purpose it worked and I’ll probably never use this again so I can say it fulfilled that purpose. The lack of precision and difficulty of positioning the tips makes using it frustrating. If you regularly need to desolder small SMT resistors, caps, etc. I would definitely advise not buying this and spending the money for a better tool like something from Hakko. This is a cheap knock-off alternative that is functional but really on the low end of being useful and usable. Given how poor the quality is I wish it was significantly cheaper too.It comes with a metal stand to hold it which arrived dented and deformed but it wasn’t too hard to bend it back into shape, though it’s the kind of metal where too much bending will probably break it.Another review mentioned theirs went up in smoke. I tested mine outdoors first and it didn’t catch on fire which is good but I’ll always be cautious with this thing if I ever use it again and I keep a fire extinguisher by my workbench. It definitely looks and feels like the kind of product you can’t trust so use caution.

You are quality control.
Had to request replacement since first one went up in smoke the first time it was plugged in. Replacement worked, but clearly was never tested. Good luck.

Works for 1 mil components
Very handy for rework and not having to use two irons.

It is a necessary tool if you are working with SMD boards .

A very good device. Takes a bit of practice to get the hang of it.
