This is a very well put together solder project kit.
I was skeptical to buy this (even though it’s cheap enough to be a disappointment) because there were no reviews and the description at the time I first looked at it was not very informative. Let me be the first to say that it was no disappointment. In fact I’m very impressed with the way this went together.I am a retired manufacturing manager and recently got into microelectronics as a hobby. This looked like a good little project to experience some small scale PCB soldering so after looking again on it on Amazon the seller greatly enhanced the description and I decided to purchase it.First of all, as an Amazon Prime member I’d never actually experienced same day delivery but I needed a couple of other items and so I qualified for a same day delivery with my yesterday early morning order. The order was dropped on my porch at about 5:30 last evening.I unpacked the small box to check contents and immediately noticed there were no instructions included, but there was a note on the package with an email address and instructions to contact them at the address for a PDF instruction sheet. I did, and this morning in my inbox was a PDF file with complete, easy to follow and well written instructions. Assembly took me a little less than 5 hours. I took my time and was very meticulous with my soldering. There are nearly one hundred LED’s involved along with the MCU (controller) a few switches, an active buzzer (for sound) and a capacitor. The soldering of the LED’s was by far the most time consuming part of the project but with good magnification (I used a magnifying visor) it was not difficult. After removing the protective paper from the laser cut acrylic panels it was easy to complete the project. Then for the final part of the project, connect the power and hope all worked as expected.I’m happy to say that it did. Immediately it began a series of flashing lights and music from the small active buzzer. The music will quickly become annoying but it does work and can be turned on and off with a switch.I highly recommend this for anybody looking for a quick and inexpensive solder project and I think it would be a very fun project to do with a child or grandchild.
