Solder: General purpose silver brazing alloy for steel and copper alloys. Melting range useful for wide clearances. Often specified in government use. Good ductility and capillary flow. Flux: An all-purpose, low-temperature flux for use in silver brazing. Use with most ferrous and non ferrous metals, not recommended on aluminum, bronze, magnesium, and titanium.
6.5 oz Flux
1 Troy Once (31 g) Solder
56% Silver
20% Copper, 17% Zinc, 5% Tin
Cadmium free
Customers find the soldering iron functional and effective for their projects. They appreciate its strong bond strength and say it works well for copper to steel connections. However, some customers reported issues with missing flux in the first shipment. There are mixed opinions on its repairability.

Works great, even for a newbie…
Living in Ca. we bought a generator last year to help with all the planned power outages. It’s on our back deck. Anyway, I wanted to extend the exhaust so I could lead it away from the deck. Unfortunately, the generator doesn’t have a pipe sticking out to attach a flex pipe to. So I found a steel flange and pipe to do it myself.. I could have bought a ready made flange/pipe, but I’m cheap and a tinkerer, AND I had never welded/brazed before, so I bought a Bernzomatic regular Propane torch, and was reading up on how one could do this. I bought this set of flux and Silver solder. Propane is not the best to use (thick metal needs a lot of heat), there are better options, and as the flange was 1/4″ thick, it took quite a while for the metal to heat up enough for the silver solder to start flowing. However, when it did, it did what it was supposed to do. The flux made it flow right though the minute gap between the pipe and the flange, and when it cooled down, I could see the silver solder on the bottom of the flange around the joint.. Long store short, it worked perfectly for my purpose, and we’ll see how the joint holds up on the generator..It was a nice little project and this product made it work out right.

Great product
Worked very well at my first attempt at silver soldering

This kit worked perfectly brazing SS tubing to brass fittings.
Used this kit to braze SS thin wall tubing to brass fittings for cryo application. Solder and flux were perfect combination and wetted extremely well to both metals. Use Mapp gas and have surfaces well cleaned prior. Great product.

This is the real stuff
Works great 65 percent silver. Super hard. Works with butane gas.

Open package, short by 3 grams!
Update: The alloy and flux worked perfectly fine, but still disappointed in the packaging and actual quantity <1t.o.Original: Someone bought this before and returned it; the packaging was covered in moisture from the leaking flux bottle and the brazing alloy had already been used (melted end). The alloy dish was in terrible condition. The paste flux is dry and cannot be stirred. I'm not sure I cannot trust the alloy is what it says it is.

Works great
I use to high temp solder part (steel to steel) on buckles and spurs.

Incomplete
I ordered it and it arrived without the flux. I did a return and was sent a new one. It, too, arrived without the flux. Big box, little snuff-sized contained of solder, and no flux. I don’t have the time or inclination to do another return just to have the same thing happen again. I’d like to tell you whether the product works, but I can’t. Because I am fluxless. I will update this if I ever get the flux.

Finally!
Tried everything thinkable to solder coat hanger wire, stainless steel and other metals… this stuff is the bomb!..Have actually soldered coat hanger end to end and it is stout…wow. Just be sure to clean everthing and use the Stay Silv flux…heat is high as in Red Hot but once there it flows and sticks. Be sure to use some sort of heat sink to solder near another joint so it does not come loose. Happiness
