Fun kit to assemble
Easy kit to assemble. The Tetris game is fun. The other 3 are not as good. Battery container keeps falling out. Need to use a stronger double side tape.

Great introduction to basic soldering skills!
My son absolutely loved building this! It was his first real “project” using the solder techniques he had been practicing and he did a great job!He is a video game nut, so naturally he was eager to complete it so he could play it, but I gotta say, the look of utter satisfaction and pride on his face was well worth it once he completed the build.If you have a child who is interested in electronics, I highly recommend this kit.

Good beginner kit
Not a lot to build on this one, most logic is handled by the big microprocessor so not much to solder. The case is probably the most complex part of the build, but it goes together well. The instruction sheet does omit the âinstall the transistorâ and âinstall the power switchâ steps for some reason, so make sure you do so!And you can play 4 games. This was a lot of fun!
I have never soldered anything before this kit, and I had no problems at all. The directions were clear and concise. Everything was included in the package, and it went together with very little effort. I don’t know that I would expect similar results from an 8-12 year old without adult supervision, but it is possible.I was most impressed by the fact that the game actually worked after I was finished.

Excellent soldering project for beginners, and very fun to play!
I had pretty much zero soldering experience prior to putting this kit together. It was very fun to assemble this game machine with my kids and was quite the rewarding learning experience.The included instruction insert sheet is somewhat confusing to follow, since a lot of the text is jumbled together, and the pictures are not very detailed. However, I found that watching the video link that is provided in the kit was pretty helpful to see where/how to set the components on the board and solder them in place. I was actually so excited to put it together while watching the video, that I forgot to take pics of the board and components before I soldered them together.The game board comes with a nice clear case that assembles easily and protects the system well. I was honestly quite shocked after putting this thing together to see it turn on. I really didn’t think it would work, since I figured I would have messed something up. But it runs fantastic, on both batteries or the included USB cable. All of the buttons function and respond well, the games are fun and challenging to play, and the sound (while a bit loud) is a great addition to the overall experience.I highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in learning soldering. It’s a great learning kit that ends up being a fun little gaming system too.

Gikfun Electronic Game Machine Soldering Projects Soldering Practice Kit
Neat practice project. The instructions were terrible and the webpage with “more detailed instructions” is also not really in English and is the same as the booklet. This has been a struggle for me because I used to know electronics and have forgotten. I was trying to ease in more gradually with training wheels. I like having a toy at the end to help motivate through the boring part of practice, hoping to be ready to start designing my own projects soon.

This is pretty cool!
Iâm still pretty new to soldering, but I wanted a fun challenge for myself so I picked this up because it look really cool. Iâm not done yet but Iâve had a lot of fun so far. All of the components seem to be of great quality, but the instructions are a little hard to follow, they could use a retranslation. The box it came is is very plain, so itâs not the most giftable thing but Iâm sure it will make other games getting into the wondering hobbby very happy. This console promises to have 4 games, Tetris, Snake, Raving and Raiden, I canât wait to finish this up and play them. Iâm also interested to see if I can upload my own games to it when Iâm done.

This is a very easy kit to build. It comes with useful instructions. Be cautious as there are a couple of steps left out of the instructions: read the short instructions before starting, noting which components have been omitted. Given the screen resolution, the four retro style games (Tetris, car racing, snake, alien blaster) are of course quite crude. But, they are still interesting to play.

The instructions were ok but could have a little more details for the beginners but because I have knowledge of the subject already it was incredibly easy. So much fun to be able to play the games when your done. They have 4 games and I had the project completed in a couple hours . For a beginner it might probably take a few hours depending on how much experience you got but it wouldn’t take any longer then a day to complete I don’t think.i recommend

This was fairly easy to assemble; I ended up soldering it quickly with a kid beside me to learn by watching. Now, the kids love playing it! I’m very glad I made this purchase.
