This is a Great little Solder station. I was very surprised for the price
I’ve been soldering things for 38 years give or take. My go to was always a Weller soldering gun for speed. Then a slow plug in stick soldering iron for more precise work. I do not do enough soldering to buy an expensive soldering station. Bottom line this combines the precision of the stick with the speed of a Weller gun. on top of that the tip choices are endless so yes it’s got 5 out of 5 from me.

Powerful, Good Value
This is a powerful little iron. I put a C4 tip on it, and it melts solder on large power and ground planes with ease. It used less than 50% power when holding the tip to the largest GPU power plane I could find. Inside of the unit is reasonable. The case, circuit board, and handle all are grounded to the AC ground. The handle isn’t my favorite design of the t12 types. The grip-to-tip length is longer than my other t12 type handles. The handle stand is heavy duty, and I like the holes for storing a selection of tips. The iron fits well into the stand. A little blue tack to hold it still, and I’m quite happy with it. The tweezers are very fine, and seem above average compared to comparable tweezers. The tips wet nicely and work well. The K tip is versatile, and a great addition to the kit. I haven’t tried the solder, but the rest of the kit works well. There are a wide selection of t12 tips and handles available, and they are very affordable. This kit is quite good value in my opinion, and I’m impressed with the performance.

Big price for the quality
Defective product. No external damage on the box before opening, and had its cord’s contact plates bent severely and the pencil had a screw rolling inside it rattling.

Pretty unique functions
Have already preseted temperatures on top of the screen, which can be quickly selected. Pretty unique and very helpful when need to work with different temperatures.

Power cord
Comes with an Australian power cord plug end. You’ll have to supply your own C14 power cord.

Easily 5 stars
For the price, this kit is really good. I’m not sure how durable, so I can only be more conservative and give it a 4 starPros-Temp control from 40c to 500c. I would usually run it at 400C.-Come with 3 tips of various sizes.-Comes with sponge-Comes with fine point tweezer-Comes to temperature in a reasonable time.-Feita tips are reasonable cheap on amzn-price is reasonable for adjustable soldering iron. Hakko fx-888d is almost double the price.-mostly made of metal so it should last but time will tell regarding its reliability.Cons-Iron holder didn’t have rubber feet to keep it from sliding. I added stick on feet to fix this.-doesn’t come with brass sponge

NIce soldering station. Heats quickly.
Comes with everything described, packaged nicely. Setting up the station is straightforward, the only item worth noting is to make sure the tip is pushed all the way into the handle. (Picture #2.) Next, I changed the temperature from Centigrade to Fahrenheit. That is accomplished by pressing the temperature dial. There are eight different parameters, which are described in the instruction manual. One thing I noticed after changing to Fahrenheit is that the 4 preset temperatures are odd values (482, 572, 662, and 752). It would be nice if you could change these to a wider range, or value you had set with your old station, but I couldn’t find a way to do this. I disabled the presets by setting the “Temp gear” parameter to “Disable”. This allows the dial to set the temperature you desire.Turning on the unit, it heats quickly. After about 10 seconds the display says tip is at the set temperature (662°) but the power level didn’t drop to around 15% for about 30 seconds. This was three times as fast as my old station (picture #4).I soldered a couple of resistors and posts on a circuit board, the tip stayed hot and the soldered flowed without a problem.Overall, I like this station, but I will purchase the lower priced version next time. The presets aren’t that valuable to me and you can turn the dial quickly to the temperature settings you want.Update: I used double sided tape to set the controller on top of the soldering iron holder. (Fifth picture.) It makes it easier to see the settings and takes up less work space. I only use an iron intermittently but if have the iron on all day the heat off the iron may be too much for the controller.

So far it is working fine, with no issues.

This is my soldering iron of choice at home for my electronic work. Great iron. Good selection of tips. The tweezers are nice too! Easy to adjust time before sleep and time before shutoff (“Close” as they call it…). Everything is adjustable and easy to do so. When soldering thicker wires and/or large PCB pads that require a lot of heat the larger tips and the good temperature adjustment really works well.I like this so much that I asked for one at work where I have been using a Metcal high end irons. The Metcal is really nice BUT, one replacement Metcal tip costs the same as this whole setup and the Metcal is not temperature adjustable. I work on some very small signal devices at work and after I had replaced the Metcal with this I was noticing some noise on the instruments I was working on and I finally discovered that when this soldering station is turned on there is some signal noise induced over the power lines. Just having this iron plugged into the same power circuit as the instruments I was calibrating caused them to be noisy. For 99.9% of people soldering using this station this will not be an issue whatsoever, but worth noting if you work on really small signal devices. It is still my favorite iron for value and function…

Nearly sent this back when spotted strange system to insert the heated bit .. removed the ???? .. inserted the ‘iron’ and it worked .. dont even try reading the attached micro-print documents .. Google the item and read stuff on a large screen.

I really like this station. I used to use a small handheld soldering iron that would take a long time heating up. Pro tip just use google translate to navigate the menu and switch to English. It has some great features like preset temps. Heard up really fast with great quality tips included.
