How it works
When the battery is installed, the vibration switch S1 is disconnected, so the circuit does not work. When the gyro is rotated, due to the centrifugal force, the vibration switch S1 is turned on, and the circuit works.
The working principle of the multivibrator circuit is that when the power is turned on, the two transistors Q1 and Q2 will compete to be turned on first, but due to the difference of components, only one of the transistors will be turned on first.
Then the two triodes in the circuit will take turns and cut off, and the two light-emitting diodes will continue to circulate and emit light.
When the top is rotated, the bright LED will appear a straight line effect. Since the lights are staggered and every two lights are alternately lit, there will be multiple dotted patterns.

Fun project to practice soldering.
Look at the pictures in the listing. Two resistors with green and gold go to outside. I think thatâs the colors. The rest are same. Put long led leg to the outside. Thatâs anode side. Positive. You must know how to solder. I bought this to practice my soldering because I am getting ready to build a Drone.

Neat Little Project For Beginner Solderers!
I had recently purchased a fidget spinner that lit up when you spun it. My fiance and I both got one. Only instead of the easier to solder parts that come with this top, the parts on the spinners were the teeny tiny ones you’d see inside of a cell phone or something. His turned out good and it worked awesome, despite his welds looking a bit sloppy. When I did mine, I tried to be a lot neater with the welds, but for some reason it won’t work! It was very frustrating. I think I burnt up one of the resistors by keeping the iron on it too long trying to readjust it.So I got this top to try again. I like how these parts are bigger and way easier to handle, and the placement of them is way more straightforward. All the soldering was successful and it works! I just wish the point that it spins on wasn’t a screw, because it sometimes gets snagged and stops the top. I ended up taking a file and smoothing it out as best as I could. Then I found another screw to put in the handle end for a better grip when spinning, which worked out well. I wish there was some sort of clear cover or something to protect it, and wish the board was designed in a way so that the weight was more evenly distributed, but it seems to do it’s job, as long as it’s on glass or something almost flawlessly smooth.But all in all, it’s a good little project for beginners.

Spinning top with LEDS that light up
This was a fun kit to assemble, although installation of the centrifugal switch (which makes it light up when spinning) was a bit tricky. If you get that installed with the wrong orientation it won’t work, but the instructions weren’t explicit on that point. A second problem involved inserting the batteries (two CR2032, included) into their holders — it was difficult because of interference with other components on the very crowded circuit board. A third problem was that one of the LEDs was dead, and the kit did not include any spares. Thankfully I had a similar LED in my cache of spares leftover from another project.

Chinese trash
If you want to learn to solder, spend your money on something that will actually work when you’re done. The instructions are in Chinese. NO ENGLISH INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED!!!! It also had defective components so it couldn’t work even if assembled correctly. So when you’re all done, you’ll never know if you did it right. Isn’t that just absolutely useless? Not unlike most other Chinese contributions. The steal 100% of their tech from the rest of productive society, then bastardize and sell it to the rest of the world in it’s worst possible form. Despicable.

Fairly easy to build, but could use more instructions
This took less than 30 minutes to solder. I would have preferred a bit more guidance. For example, I soldered the LED’s too close to the board and it was then hard to insert the battery because the LED was in the way.

Be prepared to freestyle no instructions
Product works 100% but came with no instructionsonly a small blue paper with 4 tips I purchased this for a class project so I had my professor guide me in some parts overall not satisfiedI wish it actually came with and instruction sheet on how to put parts together !

There are no assembly instructions. Parts are bent. They just cut a couple of batteries off of a multi pack and threw them in the bag. Not worth the money. I doubt it will work.

Only works if I short the terminals of the switch. I even spun it up in a drill to try and test the switch. Includes 4 different colour LEDs but no indication of what colour they are or if they need to be put in specific places. The flashing function doesn’t appear to work either so, Im assuming at least one other component is no good as well. I replaced the switch with a piece of wire and all LEDs light so, I guess there’s that.
