Excellent sounding little speaker. Nice soldering project.
This was a great project. I assembled this on a live stream. It took about 4 hours altogether including answering questions. All in all this is an excellent soldering radio kit that works when done and actually sounds really good! I have tried every media format that it has. All work without issue.I had a few problems though. The acrylic bends when mounting the speakers just as another review stated. It’s fine once you fit the pieces together. The other issue I had was a break in the acrylic where the power rocker switch goes. This could be prevented if the rectangular cutout was just a 1/4″ higher up. These issues are minor though.How does it sound? I’d say it sounds great considering this has (2) 2″ drivers. The remote saves the day allowing me to use the EQ settings. The EQ can be set to classic, country, custom, no eq, rock, pop and jazz. The radio is surprisingly good as well. This style of tuner scans and automatically puts the stations it finds into presets. You can also use the remote to enter in radio stations. I listen to 89.7 locally, so I punch in 897 and it brings in the station. It comes with a 1/8″ (3.5mm) plug that has a telescoping antenna. The SD card and USB and AUX all play music as intended.This comes with a USB-A to 5.3mm barrel connector to power the entire radio. There are no battery options with this model. The blue tooth works perfectly. This shows as ‘JQ-BT’. I was able to pair it with my Windows 11 PC and play audio without issues.My favorite feature is that the LED’s light up to your voice when music isn’t playing. They have really went all out with features on this one. There is a potentiometer that you can adjust the sensitivity of the LED’s. Turn it one way and the LED’s will be very responsive to the music and your voice. Turn it the other and it’s less responsive. There is a hole in the acrylic that allows you to insert a screwdriver for this feature. Very nicely done!100% recommended!

Very cool project
I thought this would be a fun project to give my soldering skills some practice, it has many parts to assemble and solder, to be honest I am still putting it back together and hope it works when I am finished, it is a bit of work to do so, but I am having a great time doing so, great DIY project.

Bluetooth speaker that you build for soldering practice
I’m currently in the process of building this speaker and haven’t completed it as of right now. I was debating on waiting to give the review now or after I completed it. I have decided to do it now because if the speaker ends up not working, I don’t want that to affect my judgement. The reason being that if I build this and this speaker and it doesn’t work, there will be absolutely no way for me to tell if the speaker didn’t work due to defective parts or because I didn’t solder it correctly. I ordered this specifically because I wanted more practice soldering. I’m a very, very beginner level soldering.This set does come with directions but you might want to scan it so it can be blown up. That’s what I had to do. The parts are nearly packaged and the circuit board is clearly marked. I’m very satisfied.

We love the different available products Amazon offers like this. Following the directions EXACTLY and having an elaborate setup ( all purchased on Amazon. Clips to hold in place, extra lights). This particular item needed help from a specialist

Fun soldering practice kit
Fun kit! You won’t learn much (like how/why it’s built this way), this is really geared for soldering practice. A couple of confusing steps, like the way they want you to solder the wires could be explained more clearly. Still, I’ve done a few similar speaker kits for soldering practice and I like this one a lot. It’s a simple design using common LM386 opamps. The speakers themselves are common as well and frequently used in these sorts of projects. Not hifi by any means, but sounds way better than you might expect.

Overall fun project
This was a fun project that took me around 2-3 hours to complete. It is basically a board that is already assembled and you assemble a second board, speakers, and case. The instruction are good with just a couple steps that I thought where in error, but nothing that was a show stopper. I did run into one issue with the speakers and that is when I screwed them down to the panel they caused the panel to warp (see photo) . This did not effect the assembly but just wanted to note that. I really like this unit and it has so many features. The speaker sound is good if you keep you expectations in check and the LEDs actually work well with the build in mic and a trim pot to adjust them.

Woah!
Not gonna lie, opening the box and seeing all the components gave me that overwhelming feeling of “What did I get myself into?!” Like dumping that 5000 piece puzzle of Starry Night onto the table for the first time.Anyway, that feeling was quickly replaced with excitement to test my soldering skills and see what this little speaker set can do.Like that puzzle, it won’t be an overnight project but rather a little progress each night after work. Therefor I wanted to at least give my initial impressions of the kit. All the components look to be well made and of good quality. Instructions look decent enough to get through the build.I give it a “Thumb’s Up” so far!
