Great Value
I’m very happy with this product. I was really reluctant to buy an inexpensive one because in the past they’ve never worked very well. But this package works perfectly. Charges fast. It heats up fast. Everything about it is great. I’m very happy. Thank you.

Throw the solder away to save time
I thought this thing was useless until I bought some generic solder at microcenter and tried it again. I ruined a pico and a practice board with the solder that came with it, it struggled to melt, globs formed, droplets fell off the board and even at the highest heat using a wick I canât get that solder back off. $5 and a trip to the store later I really like this tool for my noob level use. Itâs lightweight, inexpensive and works well for soldering components. Iâm pretty slow but I can do at least 2 x 40 pins on a single charge and it recharges quickly. If I find myself needing to do a lot of soldering in the future, I would invest in something corded but this may still be useful for certain scenarios due to its size and weight

Doesn’t get hot enough.
Might work for circuit boards but will not solder vehicle wiring or melt solder for that matter. Weller butane soldering iron I had needs a tip that cost more than this whole iron but I should have just ordered the tip and saved the trouble.

For SMALL jobs
Just a little background about me before I go into my review just for prospective. I’ve done soldering before, but rarely. I don’t know the ins and outs on temps and types of solder and whatnot. I’m just the average Joe that tinkers with repairs and small projects. With that being said, I’ll start with saying that I really wanted to like the Meakest Cordless Portable Soldering Iron, but it just couldn’t handle the job that I most needed it to do.This kit comes with the portable soldering iron, 3 tips, stand, Flux, solder sucker, and a USB-C charging cable. This all comes in a handy dandy plastic case. I did already break the latch, but it was easy enough to put back. The soldering iron heats up very quickly and you can watch the temperature go in Celsius or Fahrenheit. It tops out at 420C or 788F. Sounds like pretty high temps to me.I recently had to replace my car headlamp wiring harness and thought it was perfect timing that I just received the Meakest soldering iron. That’s where everything went downhill. Ok, like I mentioned, I’m no electronics expert so I’m not sure if I’m expecting too much of this kit. I’m not sure what the wiring gauge is on the car side but it’s very thin. The replacement wiring harness one the other hand comes with 16 AWG wires. This soldering iron was never able to heat up the wires enough to melt the solder. Held it for at least 10 minutes and it did nothing. Tried charging up the battery fully and even ran it with the charging cable plugged in and still nothing. I ended up buying a cheapo corded 60W soldering iron from Walmart and within minutes I had the wiring harness all soldered thoroughly through the wires and all shrink wrapped and ready to go.I’m sure this kit can be handy for smaller jobs, and it probably has its use but probably not for cars. Sorry, this did not work for me. I really wanted to like this kit, and I’ll try it on other jobs around the house and see what its capable of. For now, I wish my cheapo Walmart soldering iron came with a hand dandy case.

Short battery life
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to need this til after the return date. The battery on this cordless soldering iron lasts only about 5 minutes. I’ll use the solder and rosin that came with the unit, but the iron itself isn’t worth much. There is also a spring loaded device that comes with the package with no instructions at all.
