This is a great unit!
The heat controls are great on this. The air pump makes it quieter than other heat guns. The sensor on the holster is great as well automatically starts a cooling process on the heat gun.I do wish that the holster for the soldering iron was something a bit more substantial and able to be mounted to the unit. But it works fine for what it is.I would definitely but this unit again. Hopefully I will not have to. But only time will tell!I know this is a relatively new unit or at least new to Amazon.I took a gamble and bought it with only 3 reviews that were paid. And it seems to have paid off!

Super Cool Soldering Iron Set
I think the thing that I love about this is that it has eveything you need. My only complaint is more of an space issue. I don’t have a lot of work space and this takes up some room. That is not necessarily bad if you can plan for it, but this is rather large. Neverthless, the tool is great and gives you two much needed work options for soldering and heat work. Pretty great!

Good for surface mount rework.
I had an opportunity today to put this to the test, and it worked well for removal and replacement of some surface mount components as well as some through hole power transistors and capacitors on a PCB.The hot air gun gets hot fairly quickly once you pick it up, and with good flux was able to quickly heat some surface mount diodes, transistors, and passive components hot enough to remove them from the board.When you set the Hot air gun onto it’s cradle, it goes into standby mode and continues to run the fan to cool itself off, You have to be careful of what is behind the base station as it is going to get some hot air directed it’s way.I also tried the hot air gun to remove a small TO220 transistor that was bad. This wasn’t as fast, it took some time for the heat to reach through the solder pads to the other side of the board. Solder wick and the Iron would probably have been faster.The iron comes up to temp fairly fast, and seems to hold the set temp well.It uses the 900M style tips that are readily available.I did not have any issues changing the temp display from Celsius to Fahrenheit.It comes with a set of basic accessories, solder sucker, tweezers, Iron tips, and 2 small round nozzles for the gun, as well as some solder wick and solder.The only real complaint I have is that the iron stand sometimes likes to catch on the iron when you go to pick it up. The hole in the stand is just a little bit bigger than the nut on the part of the iron that holds the tips on. The nut goes through this hole and can catch on the other side.When I have some down time I will probably bevel the edges of the hole to prevent this.The iron stand is made of Bakelite, and holds the iron securely.The tip cleaning sponge is a bit thin, but as that is a consumable, I will just buy a thicker one when I need to replace it.Overall this does the job it was made for.
