Ordered by misake
I ordered this item by mistake. I did need one, but was going to wait to see if I could find a better price. I forgot to take it out of my Shopping Cart. I cancelled the order within 10 minutes of placing it. But the item shipped anyway. When it arrived, I tried to return it. The surprise was that they did not pay for return shipments. It was only $6.50 out of my pocket to ship back for a refund. I decided it wasn’t worth it and just kept the Soldering Iron. It is of good quality, and works very well. I was just upset that they wanted me to pay for the return shipping and that wasn’t clear when I accidentally ordered it.

Great soldering Gun kit. Good value.
Works good…Heats fast. Had same for 4 yrs and very good until i dropped it and broke the connection to the main heating element.The case and extra elements are a plus.

Not sure why it says I havenât gotten it yet. It actually came earlier than it was supposed to and it works great! Thanks to this item Iâve completed 3 stereo installs and fixed the headlight on my car. Great product from a fast and painless seller. Would highly recommend.

Nice Soldering Kit
After reading mixed reviews on Weller brand soldering guns, I decided to give this one a chance. I just received it today, no problems with the shipping process. The unit included everything promised. Note that there are no instructions or useful information included, such as a parts list, or even an address or website for the manufacturer. The outer label states that there is a 1 year warranty, but no claim information.As I don’t use a soldering gun much (I’ve been using a 30W soldering pencil in the past, which required a lot of patience on heavier soldering jobs.), I’m hoping the included tips last a lifetime. I successfully tried the gun on some 14 gauge wire. It heated up reasonably quickly. The tip has a chrome finish to it initially, which dulls after the first use. I used a file to clean the tip, so I could tin it. I did notice something strange about this gun. The tip will actually start to glow cherry-red after about 30 seconds. After releasing the trigger, I wiped the tip with a shop rag, which briefly caught fire. I’ve used several different guns over the years, but never experienced either of these things happening. If you should happen to purchase this, you may want to handle it a little more carefully than you’re used to.

It’s alright but I should have bought it at Walmart. Prices are competitive but Wallyworld is much less likely to screw you over.

Would buy again
Does what it’s designed to do. Much better than the one from harbor freight. The light is worthless though, it’s amber rather than being nice and bright. I like that it comes with a case. The duel temp is nice. So far it’s worked great every time. I would buy this again

I am used to soldering guns that heat to melting temperature in seconds. This one takes much too long. Mine came with zero instructions. It claims to be dual heat but I have no idea how you select between the 2 wattages. There is no switch or any sort of indicator. I’ll keep it because it is usable if not convenient but next time I’ll stick with a name brand, even though it too is probably made in China. It sure is getting hard to buy quality products anymore.I originally stated the iron was slow to heat up. This was due to the screws holding the element in place not being tight from the factory. Now that they are tight it heats up quickly. I am not upgrading the rating from 3 stars though as I have found after further use that the trigger/switch is extremely hard to keep depressed making this tool uncomfortable to use for a any length of time. Also, I still have no idea how to toggle between the 150W and 250W settings.
