so much better
This works way better than the roll that came with my soldering iron.

Impressed on first use!
I’ve been soldering for years, repairing and building things. Basically I’m a hobbyist-slash-repairist, not a professional soldering tech. I don’t have fancy gear, just a $40 iron. What I can tell you is this solder is very easy to work with and you don’t have to be a professional to notice! It melts and flows very nicely! I’m very happy with the joints I have made, they are structurally and electrically solid. PLUS, they look good!I still use flux very generously to help speed up the heat transmission and isolate the work area. I also use heat sinks on my wires and “helping hands” alligator clips to manipulate wires and keep from getting burnt fingers. I expect this roll will probably last a couple of years for me, but when the time comes I will get this one again!5 stars! Great solder!

Impressive performance at reasonable prices – highly recommended
I buy/use only high-quality solder. There are only a few items and consumables that I refuse to skimp on and solder is one. If you have ever used low-quality, water-based flux core (@ <1%) solder, you know why it pays to buy high-quality consumables. As a Christmas gift this year, my kids bought me a couple of rolls of 60/40 0.032" flux-core solder. I wasn't familiar with Alpha Metals solder before using it but, after running through a few ounces I can say with certainty, it is quality solder. It flows well, wets the joints nicely and the flux does what it is supposed to.This is high-grade, flux core solder at a reasonable price. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Alpha Metals solder to anyone who asks.

It works well – plan to buy again when I run out
Normally my reviews are in depth, but this is solder. The way I see it, it either works well or it doesn’t – this one works well. I have done a few projects with it already, and had no problems. I picked this one because it wasn’t lead free, it had good ratings, and seemed to be a good price for the amount you get. Take the time to compare, some are listed in oz and some are listed in grams. I plan to buy this again once I run out.For larger products, I believe this company has a roll with thicker solder if you need it.

NOT made in USA as shown.
The main reason I chose this brand over the other (cheaper) ones is because in the picture you can clearly see “Made in USA” on the product itself. The item I received is marked made in mexico. Dissapointed in the false advertising but the product itself is fine.

Will buy more
Excellent solder for small circuit board applications in particular. I use this solder for multi-rotor assembly and general purpose applications and it works perfectly. I especially like how there is a flux core, but with just enough flux to get the job done. With other solder I have used, there is far to much flux in the core which leads to messy jobs even after cleaning away what flux you can.

very good product
too damned expensive

Works like solder should, and no snap, crackle, or pop like you may get with the lead free stuff.
This is great solder…One thing that you can’t do when working with electronics is to go cheap on one of the singular most important components of electrical work. You can’t “go green” with solder. If not this brand, get another brand you trust. Because the time and effort you put into your work isn’t worth leaving your solder joints to chance. This has good feel to it, melts easily and with no “forcing the solder to the hot spot”.Just the right size for R/C components, but if you work on the smaller surface mounted caps and resistors you’ll want something just a bit smaller like .020.
