Did The Job and bought a 2nd One for a gift!
Purchased to repair a cracked gas tank on a discontinued Stihl backpack leaf blower. My son, who is a mechanical engineer wanted to do the repair. He was so impressed by this welding iron that he wanted one too, so I ordered a second one for him for Christmas. I’m sure it will come in handy for future projects!

Junk – Worked for 15 minutes and then died.
Moved my review from one star to four stars because the seller replaced the item. Hopefully this one works better.I was attempting to use this to fix a crack in a Hobie kayak. The unit worked for 15 minutes and then died. It does not get hot now, the element seems to have burned out. There is no fuse to replace or servicable parts that are apparent. Junk junk junk. No way to contact the seller on here. Pay more and get a quality unit. Cheap junk that just ends up in a landfill.

Fixing stuff and saving money
I picked up this kit to help repair the dashboard in my pickup (I removed it first and repaired from the underside). It did great with the original intention. However, since then I’ve found a few surprisingly good uses. With the included metal mesh I was able to repair the head on my yard trimmer that I wore holes in (new ones are over $30). Several weeks later it’s holding up great. I also found this works great to repair a drain pan. In this kit you’ll get the iron part with (4) heads, two of which have a slender shape and have a hole straight through to feed the included rod aggregate. You’ll also get several colors of patch sticks and filler rod sticks, wire mesh sand paper, and even a couple pieces of foil tape. I can see myself using this tool for years instead of buying new bits to replace tiny worn out pieces of just about anything. I can’t wait to find the next use.

***Trash that will break immediately, reviews must be fake.. You have been warned not to buy***The arm of the gun literally melted and went limp the first time we tried using it. This is not a plastic welder. This is a heating element wrapped in the cheapest PLASTIC in all of China. Connected to (with wires way under the required gauge) a micro sized iron made of, you guessed itâ¦. The cheapest STEEL in all of China.0 Stars. Buy if you enjoy watching pieces of equipment self destruct, or if you like to be terribly disappointed thinking your going to finally finish a project, only to have the main tool need kill itself. If your into this stuff then boy do I have treat for you!!!For everyone else. Buy anything but this.Thanks

Gives new life to plastic items you would discard otherwise.
I bought this plastic welder with the idea of repairing a crack in the radiator on one of my vehicles. I started by practicing repairing a large plastic tub I use in my garden area. I was easily able to repair both the tub and the crack on the radiator for my car.I like how easy the plastic welder was to use and the fact that I was able to make the repairs myself. I also like all the different types of plastics and the different welding heads included in the welding kit.

Works good. Not the highest quality.
The iron itself strikes me as pretty cheaply made, but it works. I have used it several times and itâs worked well. I would be sure to keep the hot iron end elevated while you are using it so it doesnât overheat the plastic handle. I also wouldnât press too hard on it, but if you let the iron do the work you shouldnât have to.

Great Tool for Repairs
This kit is excellent for welding plastic. I got it for fixing my Sundolphin boat. I works well. After a little practice I was able to patch a large hole in the bottom. The extra sticks and bars and screen are well worth the investment. This kit does what it says, and the instructional video was great help.

J’ai réparé des pièces de ma moto qui a tombée par grand vent. Cet outil est est vraiment bien et il y a des tiges de plastique, des grilles de métal et un support, tout ce qu’il faut. Je recommande cet outil. Attention au brulure, c’est très chaud.

I’ve tinkered with this a bit and it works great! It’s versatile with the 4 included tips and a variety of materials to get you started with fixing things.I already had a hot staple-type of setup and this kit is good for smaller jobs and to supplement my other one for more precision. And when it comes to melting any plastics, it’s best done in a ventilated area, you don’t want to breathe that stuff.
