ELECTRICAL REPAIR ROSIN CORE SOLDER: Ideal for soldering and repairing electrical connections.
APPLICATIONS: Used for electrical repairs on printed circuit boards, radios, speakers, motors, appliances, wiring and other various electrical jobs
ALLOY: High purity leaded alloy comprised of 60% tin and 40% lead and melting point of 183°C-188°C (361°F-370°F)
SPECIFICATION: 2% Rosin Activated Flux Core with a diameter of 1.5mm (0.062″) and spool size of 113g (0.25lb).
BENEFITS: Great electrical and thermal conductivity, fast solder speed, low melting temperature, smooth flow and strong solder joints
AFTER-SALES: Feel free to contact the AIM Solder support team for any questions or additional support.
Customers like the quality, functionality, and melt rate of the product. They mention it works great, melts easily with the 2% flux, and is good value for money. However, some customers have reported that the solder doesn’t flow well, even with flux.

Just plain old great soldering wire
This stuff is great for repairs and new projects. Please note that the thickness I bought was for larger gauge wires not the very small surface mount projects for that you’ll need just about the thinnest solder they have but this is great solder no matter the thickness purchased.

Working very well, and great for small scale parts and SMT
It’s thin solder wire, so keep that in mind as it will get creases and break if you are not careful . However, it does flow very well, and it’s a great size for SMT and small through hole construction.

The best solder available.
This was my first time using AIM 60/40 Rosin core and it is going to be the only lead solder I use from now on. It melts and flows cleanly, and the rosin is just aggressive enough that it works on hard to reach old joints that have some surface corrosion, breaking up the old stuff to let it remove cleanly.Joints cure quickly, and uniformly with the solder melting at a very reasonable temperature. If there is any negative, it does leave residue, but a little rubbing alcohol and an old toothbrush takes care of it easily. Anyway this is a side effect of using any good rosin core wire.

Great stuff
I’m new to soldering and bought a DIY soldering kit. The 60/40 solder worked better than the lead-free version I had. It melts easily with the 2% flux. I discovered that 60/40 is ideal for beginners like me as it melts faster, allowing adjustment and stays in liquid form a bit longer than 63/37. Despite not initially knowing the size difference (got 0.8mm vs wanted 1mm), I found the 0.8mm to be better for various tasks. I opted for a 1-pound supply, anticipating mistakes, and in 30 minutes, I got the hang of it. Using a TS101 set at 672°F struck the perfect balance for easy melting without excessive heat.

Did the job
Great

Good for the price, doesnt soak into metal as easy as kester
I can definitely tell the difference but its maybe 70-80% as good at half the price. It melts really fast and flows really watery and thin with a tendency to just drip all the way out through the joint or run off. If you dial in the low temp just where it starts to melt but no more, its less of an issue. The rosin core is same as their lead free solder(which oddly works better than their 60/40.) And this is good becauss it smells amazing.

Great!
I use this solder on my electric guitar components. Nothing wrong with it at all. The right size, the right melting point and adhesion. I recommend. And not from China. You have to be careful with the toxicity of that stuff.

Great solder
Great product and comparable to Kester but somewhat cheaper.

For fine microchip and led work this is great no complaints

1.5mm is the perfect size for most small projects I find. It also helps a lot to do a quick solder on wire splices. Exactly what I wanted. Thank you.

I use it for guitar, amplifier & speaker cabinet solder joints. Works perfect.

i make and repair speakers ,a lot, every local electronics person tells me you need this type of solder, the silver type is practically useless , sorry, but it is…… and Amazon had this for about half price of what i would pay locally the Amazon available 60/40 solder just works, period. I bought two spools and should get more

I am a fairly new hobbyist solderer. I have had great success with the Kester brand but they are just too expensive. This product is currently selling for half the price and I would say the performance is at 80% of the way there for the type of work I do, which doesn’t involve an extreme precision. I mostly solder 16-22 gauge wires here and there, maybe occasionally some thru-holes on PCB’s.It more or less achieves the same result as the Kester’s, just with more effort as the solder tends to form blobs instead of seeping smoothly into the metal joints. I find that I am reaching for flux paste a little more often than I used to.This is far superior to a number of off-brand solder I have used in the past and I would recommend it to people doing the same type of work that I do.
