better than leaded! sry cardas audio luv ya but this is my new solder
I had my doubts about unleaded solder but i decided to give this a chance after seeing the other review and remembering seeing it at Michaels. I dunno how they do it but it melts so easy and soaks into steel or copper wire with ease and very little oxidation and leaves mirror shiny STRONG joints. And its lead free and much better price than the cardas audio quad eutectic solder thats been my mainstay. buy it you wont regret it and if ur an old gotta have lead guy(or gal) seriously give it a chance. i even recorded a video tinning a wire end just because i wanna show how awesome this is and u dont need lead anymore!

Best I have had bought
I thought I was just no good at Soldering Turns out the quality of your solider makes a world of difference

Not enough solder
This product is good but runs out too fast.

Flows readily, leaves clean solid joins
I so didn’t need more solder, but seeing this come available, and reading the 2 positive reviews peaked my interest. I use a mix of both lead and lead free solder–I’m old, there’s not much lead is going to do to me now that it already hasn’t-and whatever it has, I don’t know about. So, I use whatever works best, and quite frankly, the difference is getting quite small; it’s all expensive anymore. Now the solder I could get via the Vine program (1.5 mm) is larger than I would typically use for electronics work–this is more of a size i’d choose for connections and terminals for 18-24 gauge wire. That’s OK for me, I have other choices, but consider carefully the range of projects you have in mind. It flows well, using either a chisel or tapered tip. They say it is rated for 416-454 F, I won’t disagree, but I didn’t measure. The rosin does its job without leaving a bunch of excess; the silver and antimony make their own contribution to clean joints. I’m sure soldering aficionados can find more to say, all I can really say is that the connections I attempted with tin coated marine grade 18 gauge fine stranded copper wire were easily made and looked good afterwards. Some would say the wire didn’t pose much of a challenge, but then, I don’t try to work with components that do.So this solder is new to me. The product listing and packaging says it comes out of Mexico; the company is out of Montreal. If the price was right, I’d purchase it again for general new wiring and wiring repairs. I have no reservations recommending it to others, but then I don’t have much in the way of reservations about most of the Name Brands I usually buy.

Good Solder
I’ve used AIM solder for years, and this particular lead free rosin core solder was everything I expected it be. It’s an excellent solder for general purpose electronic projects and repairs. I’ve fixed many factory cold solder joints by desoldering and then resoldering with this solder. The solder is very easy to work with and I have no complaints at all about it.

Relatively easy to work with
I’m not quite ready to give up my leaded solder, but this AIM Electrisol ranks well among the lead-free options that I’ve tried. This roll is rather thick at 1.5mm, which makes it good for wire tinning and cable splicing, but maybe not ideal for the precise circuit board repairs that I often handle.I used this solder to prep some 16AWG wires and was satisfied with the result. The solder is fairly easy to work with, showing decent wetting action once everything’s up to temperature. The rosin core does a good job on the initial pass, but plan on adding more flux if you need to reheat/rework anything.Overall, solid performance from this solder, and definitely something I’ll come back to when I’m working on a lead-free project. I still find leaded solder to be a little easier to manage, but part of that likely comes down to experience.

Worked well for the job
I was looking for some unleaded rosin-core solder for a small electrical repair (a toy’s circuit board) and got the opportunity to try this. It melted well and seemed to create a solid connection. I’m a newbie when it comes to soldering, so my feedback is going to be minimal (I don’t have a lot to compare it to), but it did what I was hoping with just a little bit of struggle due to lack of experience on my part. There was the perhaps typical strong smell of solder – probably should have done it in a more ventilated area – so that’s something to keep in mind, but I was comforted by the fact that I wasn’t breathing lead.
