Prevent oil spray buildup and sticking issues in V4 mode with the AFM Disabler.
By keeping your engine in full V8 mode at all times, it helps reduce the risk of oil leakage and lifter sticking that commonly occurs in V4 operation. Over time, this not only ensures smoother engine performance but also helps minimize carbon buildup on the lifters, extending the longevity and reliability of your engine.
How It Works: The AFM Disabler efficiently disables the Active Fuel Management (AFM) and V8 Displacement on Demand (DOD) systems, ensuring all cylinders in your V8 engine remain active at all times for maximum power and performance.
Safe and Non-Intrusive: This device does not modify or reprogram the factory ECU (Engine Control Unit). It simply plugs into the OBD-II port and can be easily removed, ensuring your vehicle’s original settings remain intact
Improved Fuel Efficiency: By maintaining full-cylinder operation, the AFM Disabler optimizes your engine’s performance, which can lead to better fuel economy under various driving conditions, making your V8 both powerful and efficient.
Cost-Effective and Convenient: Compared to the expensive and labor-intensive process of replacing Lifter components, the AFM Disabler offers an affordable and user-friendly solution, saving you time and money while preventing potential Lifter issues
Wide Compatibility: The AFM Disabler is compatible with a wide range of AFM-equipped vehicles, including popular models like the 5.3 Silverado, Sierra, and other GM V8 engines.

Does what it is supposed to do
This item plugs into the OBDII port under the dash and is supposed to prevent the engine control module from utilizing the fuel-saving cylinder deactivation feature. The small box contained only the module in an anti-electrostatic plastic bag. No instructions are included other than the writing on the unit itself that warns not to leave the dongle plugged into the OBDII port if the vehicle will not be driven for long periods, since it does draw a small amount of current and could deplete the battery. When plugged into my 2013 Silverado pickups OBDII port, the three leds flashed and the truck started normally. The driver information center normally shows when the engine is operating in V4 and V8 modes as I am driving. With this module plugged in, V8 is the only mode that appears, so it seems to be doing it’s job. After driving with this plugged in for a few dozen mile, I experienced no negative effects or check engine lights. I don’t have enough data to say whether this impacts the overall gas mileage or not, but if I can get that measurement, I’ll update the review.
