Hold the gun on the staple a few seconds after the heat is off then pull the gun away
It heats up fast and easy too use. I repaired a crack in my lawn tractor hood.

GREAT PRODUCT UNTIL…
I love this product for repairing cracked motorcycle fairings, but the heat gun is chincy and started melting itself on third or fourth use, then failed entirely in a puff of putrid smoke about 12 uses in.

Button broke after two button presses. Wonât turn off now.
I used this hot stapler only two times (two button presses) and the button is now stuck in the depressed âonâ position. It will not turn off unless I unplug it which makes it useless. This is an extremely cheap product and now my return window is closed. No warranty leaves you high and dry. Avoid it!
