Doesn’t work
None of the LED’s work except for the top one. I’ve had someone else look over it and they can’t find anything wrong.Instructions aren’t in English and this tree isn’t labeled the same as other instructions found online/YouTube so it makes it hard to put together.

Making this is fun!
This kit is fun to make and helps develop soldering skills. Probably not for the beginner, but for the intermediate skill level. The Christmas tree is a nice decoration for the Christmas season and brings out memories of its construction.

The instructions could be better
It works, although I did manage to lose the top led. The instructions are in Chinese. The circuit schematic and list of parts and locations are English enough. The parts list shows 3 types of led, but there is only one type. There is no mounting for the battery case. I didn’t use it and provided my own standoffs for a base. A fun little project for the money.

The PCB is different from other Chinese kits, I do not recommend
I haven’t built this yet, but over the past 5 or so years I have ordered and built dozens direct from China with my high school students. I was mostly happy with the RGB kit and have come to know the circuitry and failure modes quite well. As other reviews have said, there are no instructions in English, but I don’t need them. You can find a variety of build instructions online though. (Some are good, some not-so good.) The PCBs are different from the ones I get direct from China. It appears that this vendor made their own PCBs. They appear to be of the same quality. I will add an edit if they build differently. I can say the silk screening has a big space between digits on component designators. For example, “D14” is for one of the LEDs, and it appears on the PCB as “D1 4”, and the ‘4’ runs into another part of the silk screen, so it’s easy to miss. The LEDs are the rainbow type — not individual red, green, and yellow LEDs. This makes it easier to build, but I prefer the individual LEDs. I can’t find any on Amazon, however. As other reviews have said: the holes in the bottom PCB do not line up with the mounting holes in the battery pack, and there is no mounting hardware (#2 screws and nuts) included in the kit. The area where the mounting holes in the bottom PCB need to be have no traces, so you can drill your own, but really?

Did not come as described
So the page says it comes with yellow, green and red LEDS but instead came with clear LEDs that are color changing. The holes for the battery bank are no where close to lining up and did not come with the bolts to attach it. In the picture it shows the wires for the battery bank coming through the board but it doesn’t. The switch is also different from the picture. Didn’t come with a 3.5mm power socket and cable but instead was a micro usb power socket and cable. The instructions are only in Chinese.Decent and fun build but not as described.

Did not come with instructions. I am not Chinese so i will nor be able to assemble this.. Just a loss of money and a bad experience with this company.

Not for beginners
Instructions in Chinese. Some components are missing. Will have to supplement with my own parts. It was still fun to build and my 12 year old granddaughter had a blast building it. Hope it works after I add the missing parts.
