Why there is white smoke when first time use ?
The head of the unused plastic welder comes with flux. So it is normal to see smoke when first time use. Suggest setting up a fan and wearing a mask to keep from breathing the burnt plastic smoke. And do it outside if you can.

Be wary of the instinct to get a better grip on it, every metal part of this gets very hot and will burn you in a split second.Keep the welder tips clean and clean up oxides in time.Put the plastic welder on the iron stand.Our product is only used for welding the bumper gap and repairing, not for welding two broken bumpers.

Repairs car underbodypanels
This kit is great! I repaired several underbody panels on my car in about 30 minutes. Using the supplied metal screen i was able to repair a right angle joint on a panel. Very happy with this kit!

welded nickel-quarter size hole in gas tank
this was easy enough to use. used it about 3x. we tried using the polyethylene strips that came with it first but gas still leaked and that could’ve just been from us not sealing the hole properly the first time and then going over it with the strips. so we tried it again and there was a small leak , so we did have to buy a different type of polyethylene strip and I think we picked it up from ACE or home Depot . No leaks after the 3rd time. it’s held up so far.

First time using this and it broke already!
Well when it was working it worked pretty damn good…But after using it for a couple hours while doing a project the plastic welder stopped working!….WTF!…So it broke the 1st time using it…

Works great for welding small cracks
I welded a crack on the top of my gas tank with this. Saved me over 300$. Take your time, sand your area and clean then go slow. Yhe plastic welding rods really helped fill gaps and cracks.

Dangerous
By the time it was hot enough to do it’s job, the metal shaft coming out of the handle actually melted the handle and it fell apart. Returned.

Good setup and easy to use
I have used this to fix cracks in two kayaks and fix one fender on a golf cart. Fairly easy to use just make sure you find out what type of plastic your working with, wish the rods were labeled with some info but alas you might be better using a laundry detergent container. This would be five stars if there were more information on the plastic rods included with the set.

This product is not fit for sale. First time using it, let it warm up to temperature, then sustained an electric shock from the hand. One of the screws located in the handle, became live when switched on.
