Great Little Beginner Kit
Went together fairly easily and works well. Definitely a fun kit for a beginner. As with most of these beginner kits, the best idea is to scan the QR code on the included instructions to access the full build document on their website. Use the full set of instructions on the website’s PDF document rather than the bare-bones instructions included with the kit.My only two minor beefs are that 1) you are locked into Celsius. I could not find a way to toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit. and 2) the unit does not measure below freezing (0 C or 32 F) although that limit is clearly stated in the product description.

A good kit for beginners with a little experience.
This board was really fun and quick to make. I will start off by saying that this kit is NOT for a first time user. This kit encourages you to be more independent as far as assembly. You are given a part list with a schematic to help you build (there is no picture). You may need to look up some parts to properly identify them if you arent familiar with the values but I think its a good way to begin learning them. Personally i didnt find the schematic helpful but the pcb board was. It had all the parts outlined with values and polarity markings already on it. I like that it included spare resistors. Sometimes they get bent or break during shipping so having a few extra is nice. It works as described just be patient. Use a magnifying glass to check your parts and don’t be afraid to reference the product photo I sure did lol.

Very Nice kit
This is a nice kit. Components seem to be pretty good and it is a good practice piece for through soldering. Not finished yet so I don’t know if it will work when done. Will update if there are any problems.Update. I finished it and it all worked perfectly, once I remembered to turn it on. I checked each solder joint with a VOM as I went and there were no shorts and no opens. Plugged it in and it all worked.

Take Inventory!
This was a fun soldering project, right up until I discovered that the temperature sensor, the prime reason for the kit, was missing.Word to the wise: do a thorough inventory of the parts – not a quick visual ‘all looks well’ check!

Very nice
More than just a learn to solder kit.Using for remote temp measurements on solar hotwater panels. Too small temp range. Would be better at -40 to 150C. Would be nicer if selectable C & F

Great support – A critical tool for beginners
The customer support with these guys is great from my experience.I am a beginner with soldering and this was my second project. It was a bit simple so I wasn’t too intimidated. However when i finished putting it together I was having an issue.The screen was showing broken letters and half numbers. I wasn’t sure whether or not there was a broken part or it was user error. I didn’t even know where to start for troubleshooting.I sent the DingDong store a message over amazon with pictures of the thermometer on boot up and while its running. Within 24 hours they sent a reply that showed me which part was installed wrong, and that fixed the issue.Sense I’m getting this as an educational tool this was valuable to me.5/5, will probably buy more stuff.Thanks,

Fun beginner’s project.
Fun beginner’s project. There are no assembly instructions in the kit, but there is a Schematic and that helps a lot. The operating instructions are okay, but they lack in information relating to the 4-pin jumper header. So, if you want to know what it does, goodluck. Also, the units are metric, Celsius, and as far as I can tell there is no way to switch to American standard, Fahrenheit.
