GREAT product! Love it. Have used it several times already to fix necklaces and neck chain clasp split rings
I got this to solder the split ring on my neck chain clasp that I was replacing, instead of bending over and emptying my pockets by taking it to a jeweler. This liquid flux and solder works AMAZINGLY well. I like how they ship the solder wrapped around the flux. Makes it convenient to store both always together. You only need like 1/10th of a drop of flux to solder a jewelry clasp split ring and about a millimeter of solder. The amount of flux and solder in this kit will last me the rest of my life fixing jewelry of everyone I know 🙂

Excellent Product; But . . .
Yes, it is a great product. However, PLEASE do not cover up the VERY IMPORTANT Instructions! I have used similar products in the past, and know how to use them. The instructions are important not only for proper use but also for SAFE USE. I not only wear gloves, but also GOOGLES – you do not what to have even a small drop of the flux splatter into your eye. Be careful, guys and gals.

What you see is what you get…
…in the picture the solder is wrapped around the tube of flux, in a single coil only one layer deep, so don’t expect lots of solder, but that keeps the price low and is enough for my project (tipping some stainless steel cable ends to keep them from fraying – for a bell tower). Just received it but anticipate it’ll be good.

Not bad!
This solder and flux kit was a life saver, and Amazon’s overnight shipping even more so. I was in the position where due to the crazy weather I couldn’t make it to the store, however right on time the UPS truck came to my front door bearing overnight gifts from Amazon. The flux is liquid. Not a paste or gel like some, but as viscous as water. Just be forewarned. I didn’t read the description well enough and dumped a ton out by accident upon first usage. That’s my fault however, not the manufacturer. The solder seems of good quality. Also, if you get this stuff on your hands, WASH THEM IMMEDIATELY. I had the misfortune of biting my nails after having spilled some of this stuff, and due to the hydrochloric acid content was left with a terrible taste in my mouth and a mild stomach ache. (I’m sounding way clumsier than I really am here..)Either way, it works and the flux goes a long way! Good value, recommended!

Solderiffic!
I bought this for my father. I rated it 5 stars for warmth since it’s molten metal and I guess that’s about as warm as you can get. Five stars for sheerness also, since I’ve never seen anything quite this sheer. Dad says it’s good value for money, since I paid for it, but he’s an anatomy professor and started talking about his gall bladder as he walked away. I wish I could say this was a weird sort of day, but this kind of thing happens pretty frequently. Anyway, I suppose it’s pretty good as far as solder goes. We don’t solder much, but when this runs out in 30 years or so, I’ll definitely have my son but more for me. He’s only 3 now, but the little freeloader should have a job by then.

NOT for jewelry
NOT for jewelry that needs a joint with any strength. I thought it flowed too easy (very low temperature), and it did. Mostly tin, very little silver content and will not work for rings or anything that needs a stronger joint. Flux bottle is extremely hard to use, flux is liquid. Will definitely not make the mistake of buying this again for jewelry work.I’m sure it would work fine for other uses, but don’t count on any tensile strength. I guess it’s my fault for not reading the amount of tin/silver. I bought it thinking it was “silver solder”…

Small qty for small jobs
I wanted to solder the ends of some bicycle control cables (derailleur and brake cables) instead of using the little-crimp-ends as the little crimp ends tend to fall off and generally make it impossible to remove cables for cleaning or changing out the housings. Soldered ends are also quite pleasing to view and don’t “birdcage” while routing them though the housings. This little kit is enough to last me for quite a few years. I would imagine that the flux will lose potency (or I’ll misplace it) before I use all of it up. Which is fine, even though it is a little expensive for the amounts you get, it is exactly what I needed to solder the ends of my Stainless Steel bicycle cables and I didn’t have to run all over town and end up with a gallon of flux and pounds of solder to store.
