Nice soldering iron with a nice set of extras.
This review is for the Lunamor Soldering Iron Kit, 80W 110V, at a price of $21.99.I obtained this to add to my electronics toolkit. This soldering iron has a built in temperature adjustment and display. The display shows the heat setting and a flashing icon indicating that the soldering iron is heating up. This pencil-style soldering iron comes with various tips, including screw on heat set insert tips and a set of 6 standard soldering tips, including the one preinstalled in the iron. Some third-party tips fit this soldering iron as well. This heats up quite quickly and although I prefer to have a display show the actual temperature rather than the set temperature, the flashing icon at least still informs me when I can start soldering. Switching between Celcius and Fahrenheit scales is a little tricky, but once it is adjusted, it doesn’t need to be re-adjusted each time the iron is powered on.Overall, I am pleased with this soldering iron and its performance, and I look forward to using it for my next electronics project.

Nicely made except for the short electrical cord
I’ve been doing electronics projects for over 50 years and I have used many different soldering irons. I never needed anything fancy with bells and whistles, just a good solid soldering iron. The first thing I noticed when I took this one out of the box and plugged it in was that the good cord was fairly short and I didn’t like that. The temperature display is in Celsius but I think it can be changed to Fahrenheit but there’s no instructions on how to do that so I have to look up what temperature I want. I’m used to my soldering irons having just the watts listed, not temperature so I have to look up what a typical 40 watt soldering iron temperature is and then take that temperature in Fahrenheit and convert it to Celsius and set the soldering iron accordingly. The soldering iron heats up fairly quick and a little symbol flashes on the display which I think means that when it stops flashing, the soldering iron has reached the set temperature. Again, no instructions saying what the little flashing symbol is.It came with brass insert tips which I’ve never heard of before so I had to research what those are used for and apparently they are for creating holes to put threaded inserts into plastic material. Each one of the gold pieces is a metric size. It’s doubtful I will ever be using those but if I ever do need them, it’s pretty cool that I have them. One other strange thing about the soldering iron is the plastic storage cap that you put over the tip. I can see forgetting to remove that when I’m plugging the soldering iron in. I did that the first time I plugged it in and I realized that I never pulled it off so I removed it before it melted. I don’t think I’ll be using the plastic tip cover when I store the soldering iron away.So overall, this is a nice soldering iron and due to the lack of instructions and the short cord, I rated it 4 stars.

Good soldering iron
This soldering iron is perfect for RC hobby. Super easy to use and adjust heat. Cheap and effective, cant ask for much more out of a soldering iron!

It has its place but not for everyone
TL;DR heats up quickly, uses standard hakko-syle tips, good pick for 3d printing and electronic enthusiast, the stand is too small, the handle is too skinny, and doesn’t have a big enough bump at the grim area to prevent your fingers from slipping down to the heating element area. This is much better than your standard uncontrolled soldering iron but is not as good as a typical soldering station. The hakko-style tips make it easy to change tips and get replacements. The heat insert tips work well. The display only shows the set temperature and has no display for the measured temperature of the iron. The stand is very tiny, and the sponge is way to small. a good addition would have been a real stand with a brass wool tip cleaner. Conclusion: this is a better iron than a non-temperature control iron. it also makes a good iron to carry in your tool bag for portable operations like if you work in the field. also ok for the person who occasionally needs a soldering iron. Also good for 3d printing enthusiasts. it is not the best for more professional bench use due to the lack of real-time temperature display and the poor stand.

Good Quality Easy To Use
This 80W multiple use soldering iron is light and easy to use. Digital readout can show â or â with temps between 356 – 932 â. The on off switch is conveniently located on the cord and the holder has a nice sponge pocket to wipe the tips. 5 different soldering tips provide a good assortment of easily changeable shapes and sized tips. The set also includes 8 different heat set insert tips used for inserting threaded inserts into plastic type materials. All in all this is a quality set with a good variety of tips and inserts at a good price.

Sometimes you need an exact temp
The on/off switch is nice to have, as is the digital temp gauge.

Abysmally short power cord
For what it is, itâs really good. Adjustable temperature is good enough, though I wouldnât trust it to be super accurate. It comes with a lot of accessories, which is a plus, including a nice set of heat set fitting presses. Itâs very compact, very light. This power cable though is trash. Youâll need an outlet on your workbench, thereâs no other way.

Great soldering kit for push fit in particular
I have used other soldering irons in the past, but these were perfect because they included a featured tip for pushing in hot melt brass fittings that I use on my 3D printed boxes. If the past, I just used a more standard tip inside the brass fitting to get them in, yet the tip would occasionally hit the plastic and smell bad not to mention the plastic stayed on the tip. This set us is easy to use, fast heating up, and has the tips that push the fitting in solid!love it
