Very Useful
I am an electrical engineer and have used many different soldering irons at work. I got this one to use at home because the price was good for me.I canât comment on the accuracy of the temperature that it displays, but it definitely gets plenty hot enough to melt solder. It comes with a sturdy stand, steel wool, and a sponge, although the sponge is super thin.The iron works well and is easy enough to use. Overall, for the price it is a very good soldering iron for use at home.

Good for a very inexpensive digital iron, a few rough edges but usable
I was looking for an iron to take the place of a really cheap old one that didnât take 900M/T18 style tips, so this seemed like a good one to try. Mostly I wanted to have a dedicated iron for heat set threaded inserts, as Iâm happy with my normal Atten iron for soldering. For $23, this set is a pretty good starting place! The stand is quite nice, much better than expected in an inexpensive kit like this.The included tips are ok, pretty typical cheap tips that you will probably end up replacing sooner rather than later. The selection is not bad though a screwdriver style tip would have significantly improved the kit.The solder included isnât labeled with content, so itâs a bit of guesswork to use it, but seems fine. There are lots of random corners cut in this kit, like proper labeling. Same goes for the sponge – itâs not quite the right size for the tray and needs to be cut down to fit, plus it already had a circular hole punched in the middle like it was intended for something else.My biggest issue is the poor heat control/insulation. After about five minutes of use, the foreword/tip end of the grip was quite hot, to the point that I had to shift my grip. This never happens with my nicer iron and is a bit concerning. The lack of safety certification or markings are also a bit concerning.That said, this iron is pretty cheap and surprisingly powerful for so small of an iron. It gets up to working temperature quickly and the stand is fine. Using the included knife edge tip, it makes a great hot knife for cutting webbing or nylon fabrics. You should be ok if you keep your expectations in check.
