Great value
I am a novice solder so not that experienced, but this product worked well for me. I am sure more experienced or professional solderers have other products that may work better for them. But for my level and the value that you get, it is comparable to or even better than other products on the market.The soldering stand is cheap and I would not recommend using it. The sponge that is provided is adequate. I have used better ones, but it is adequate if you don’t have one. The holder fits the brass wire just fine and have no issue using it. Though I wish it had more weight or grip to help keep it in place.Overall I enjoyed using this product and can recommend it to others to use or at least give it a try.

Serviceable cleaner holder for a good price
This is a simple yet functional holder for your brass wool to clean the tip of your soldering iron. The silicone is heat resistant which is an improvement over the metal ones like this. It includes 3 pieces of brass wool and they are good quality other than the metal shavings some seem to include. I didn’t even realize this had an iron stand, and I have a good one I use so this one is superfluous. The price is great for this and will be a nice addition to your workbench.

Good and Simple
This is the typical brass wool cleaner used to adsorb excess solder from the soldering iron. It performs as expected and looks decent. Itâs very simple in design and easy to use.

Nice holder for cleaning soldering tips.
I usually use a wet sponge to clean off the tips of my soldering irons. I saw this and thought I would see how well it worked instead of a sponge.The pictures show a before and after cleaning of the tips with brass. It works quite well. The kit comes with three balls of brass wire, a silicone holder, and a soldering iron stand.I gave this kit four stars because the silicone holder is light and wants to move around or fall over when cleaning the tip. (Adding a couple of large washers fixes that problem.) Another reason- the soldering iron stand is too small and I wouldn’t consider using it.If you haven’t used brass to clean your soldering tips, give this kit a try.

Just the Tip (Cleaner)
I have always struggled with the balance of tinning and cleaning the tip of my soldering iron. It may come down to obsessive tendencies, but I find that standard sponges don’t work very well and I end up wiping too much and it’s generally a pain. I got this brass sponge holder to see if it was better (spoiler: it is).First thing, as others have noted, the soldering iron stand that is included with this is not very good, so if that is what you are mainly wanting to get, look elsewhere. I didn’t get this setup for that at all, I was only interested in the brass sponge. This review is only about the tip cleaner, not the stand.So on that front, I think this is far better than the damp sponge of old. It seems to leech less heat off the iron, which is really nice. Most importantly of all though, it gets the excess solder off but also leaves the tip of the soldering iron nicely tinned. I had to battle with re-tinning far less than usual. In the end, I was kind of wishing I had invested in one of these sooner. Nonetheless, glad to have one now.

The silicone holder is nice, but don’t use the iron stand.
The silicone brass wool holder is really nice. You can fit 2 of the included brass wool for a firmer feel. It’s a solid product. The iron holder is an irresponsible inclusion. The thin metal support arms do not have any kind of locking mechanism (not even friction) and will fall over very easily. They are a really safety risk to use. Notice how the listing doesn’t have any pictures of it in use. Do get this for the wool holder and wool. Throw away the iron holder unless you want to set something on fire.

You can never have too many o f these
This is a great alternative to the usual Hakko tip cleaner most people know. I really like the silicone holders, they’re super forgiving to abuse. My hakko cleaner is all dented a beat up. While I do like the character that it adds, it’s cool to have a tip cleaner that’s essentially indestructible. Even better, this set includes TWO replacement brass cleaner inserts. There is also a small holder/sponge cleaner combo. I most likely wont be using these, but it’s always good to have extras. This is an incredible value and you should absolutely get this for your bench.
