M.G. Chemicals rosin activated flux formula is used in our flux-cored solder wire. Its rapid wetting and fast flowing properties results in consistent and reliable soldering every time. Cleaning becomes optional with our RA Flux core because of its non-corrosive and electrically non-conductive properties. Upper temperature limit : Do not to exceed 260 degree C (tip temperature). color and appearance: Amber Solid. Softening Point, degree C (Flux Extract): 80 degree. acid number (mgKOH/g sample): 150-160. silver chromate (qualitative halides): detection. classification per J-STD-004: ROM1. surface insulation resistance: > 1.0 x 109. shelf life: indefinite. residue removal: Not required.

The best
I use a lot of solder for my HF transceiver kits and repairs. This is a perfect mixture of metals and flux. I’ll be a return customer.

Great Solder!
Great Solder! Melts nice and shiny afterwards. My new #1 solder.

So far so good
I can’t imagine needing any more solder ever…a pound is a lot, but it seems to be a great product. It still has lead in it, which is supposedly getting harder to find, as is the 63/37 mix.

I’ve typically used cheaper brand solder and I will say this is definitely worth the price it’s like soldering on easy mode paired with a good flux you end up with nice shiny joints

Using lead, while sounding horrible, is the best way to solder as an amateur to moderate experienced user. MG Chemicals have never let me down, other than their price. This solder melts up nice, stays well on a tinned tipped, and follows the MG Chemical no clean liquid flux very well.I use 340°C to 380°C. 380 is much more heat than required, but I like to work fast and some components are not heat sensitive. Otherwise, find the lowest temp needed for your job.Godspeed, and use flux.

I wanted to go the âecoâ way by buying lead free solder wire. Well, that was a fail. Then I tried 60/40 solder wire, it was an improvement but still not to my taste in terms of results. Then I decided to go with an actual branded solder wire that included flux core. After reading some reviews, i chose MG Chemicals which seemed to have consistent positive review ratings. Now, my welds look awesome, I use less heat to melt the wire and my connections to electronics are on par with with they should be.Donât cheap out on solder wire. Otherwise you will lose time and money in having to either replace electronics (costed me an 4-1 ESC and an antenna) and you will end up having to buy actual good quality solder wire anyway.

Smells good too lol.

Excellent stuff! Flows well on all types of connectors & unions. melts accurately at 361, doesn’t make a mess….why? Because of lead & chemistry! You get what you pay for with pizza, haircuts & solder. Don’t cheap out
