Good for beginners
This is a really nice machine and really came in handy when I needed to fix some wiring that I accidentally took out of a sensor for this dresser I was working on. It was perfect timing to use this machine. It was my first time, but with a little help from some videos and reading the manual, I was able to figure it out eventually. Itรขยยs smaller than I thought it would be but itรขยยs perfect for my shed and worked well. It heated up nicely and I was able to strip and solder the wire back to where it needed to be. Honestly Iรขยยm not a pro, but the sensor works and Iรขยยm really happy I got this. While I am not glad I tore out the sensor from my neglect, it was worth the lesson since I was able to use this machine and learn something Iรขยยve always been wanting to. I think itรขยยs great to start off learning. Itรขยยs a good machine for what itรขยยs worth Iรขยยd say.

Does The Job Well! A Great Value & Highly Recommended!
Electronics have pretty much become my de facto hobby since retirement and over the years I have amassed several soldering stations, soldering irons, soldering pencils, etc. I have reviewed a few, purchased some, and subsequently enjoy having such a variety to accommodate many different soldering needs and tasks. Although I have become partial to the smaller, pencil style soldering irons, primarily because you could easily solder very small connections, I do enjoy a good soldering station provided that itรขยยs of good quality and has the necessary features. That said, this SUZUME 60W Soldering Station seems to be a winner and a great value!Letรขยยs move on to some of the specifics as to why I enjoyed using this particular soldering station. First, and probably most importantly, it maintains great heat with a very stable operating temperature. The included tips are packed generously and allow for a very wide array of soldering tasks. I initially used it to remove a faulty analog voltmeter from a legacy power supply that still otherwise works well. I was able to easily solder in a mini trim potentiometer and it also worked satisfactory with a variety of other components. Furthermore, it tinned stranded wire very easily. Next, you get a fair amount of accessories with this product, although theyรขยยre pretty generic, so it would be a great kit to get a beginner started on the right path. I found it interesting that changing the display between Fahrenheit and Celsius is quite easy, something that canรขยยt be said with every soldering station on the market. I personally like using Celsius with traditional Tin-Lead solder to be able to use a fairly low heat, that way I donรขยยt risk cooking those more sensitive components or weakening others. I could easily turn up the heat for tasks that require higher temperatures such as removing lead free solder from an existing PCB board. All said, thereรขยยs a lot to like about this product!So, what did I dislike? Fortunately, there wasnรขยยt much to dislike about this soldering station. I could have easily said more about what I enjoyed, but Iรขยยm sure you get the idea. There was ONE thing about the design that DID bother me. That was the รขยย2 x PCB Bracketsรขยย a/k/a the arms that extend from the base. The holes are simply not large enough to easily accept the larger screws that are included, so you need to apply A LOT of force to get them in deep enough to make the included lock washers effective! This was a bit of a pain to setup, but I eventually got it in tight enough to not worry about it loosening, at least in the immediate future. I have a couple of the รขยยWeller Helping Handsรขยย that performs the very same feature, albeit with four removable magnetic arms; so worst case this feature is not a necessity for me. It could be a very useful feature for a beginner and I think this is a great starter kit for anyone wanting to learn more about soldering electronics, so if the manufacturer is listening, simply get some smaller screws to include! I would be worried that widening the hole by tightening the screw enough to secure the lock washer could potentially weaken the plastic base. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN! I really like this kit and this feature did ultimately work out for me, so I am NOT docking a star for this, but did want to be fully transparent that this is a potential issue.Ultimately, I think this kit is an amazing value! I highly recommend it for pretty much any level of experience, but itรขยยs definitely going to make an awesome starter kit for someone new to soldering electronics!

Perfect for Hobby and Repair Tasks…with one fix
I was getting tired of limping along with my collection of old, cheap soldering irons that were always the wrong temperature and often the wrong power for the job at hand. Since my need is for hobbies and minor repairs, purchasing a professional (costly) unit never made much sense. This unit hit the sweet spot for me and it did not disappoint. Plenty of control over temperature, sleep and auto shut off functions and a nice selection of accessories to get you started and keep you going. Personally, I appreciate the built-in ‘3rd (and 4th) hand’ clips that allow small or unwieldy items to be properly fitted and held during soldering…no more burned fingers! Update: it appears that the wrong head screws are supplied for the adjustable clips…they do not fit the counterbore so the locking washer has no effect. Looks like a trip to the hardware store for metric, small head diameter screws with maybe some star washers.
