This makes it into the category of “nice surprise.” I’ve long ago lowered expectations for inexpensive products like this made in China, but this one — at least so far — is a standout: It actually works as advertised.I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the temperature readout because I have no easy way to test that. Nor can I tell you with certainty that this soldering pen delivers the claimed range of temperatures. For me these details are unimportant because this product gets the job done on projects that cannot be brought to my workbench. Having wasted time and money on battery- and butane-powered portable soldering irons, I’m happy to have a working solution to my remote soldering needs. Yeah, this thing needs to be not too far from an AC outlet, but so what. I can do things I haven’t been able to do reliably with the aforementioned portable irons: say, tin 16 ga. wire. More than enough BTUs to do that, and no waiting around forever for the tip to heat up. For my needs, being tethered via a power cord is not a big problem, and I’m more than OK with the tradeoff.The kit is fine. Didn’t need the mini-spool of solder nor the paste. The super-basic stand works and is one of those non-essential things that are still nice to have. And the tweezers are like an enema — you can always use another one. The selection of interchangeable tips, however, are a plus, although I’ll probably just use the small blade tip 90 percent of the time.My only complaint is minor: the legend on the buttons are invisible — I’m not even sure they’re there. Not a big problem. There are only three buttons and, even though the tiny instruction manual with a few pages written in an English-like language doesn’t identify which one is which, you’ll quickly figure it out.I won’t be putting this product to heavy use, so durability and long-term reliability remain question marks. Still, the thing seems to be reasonably well made, and I’m hoping for the best. I’ll update this review as appropriate.

Good affordable soldering gun
Ordered this as an additional soldering gun since I deal with electronics and circuit boards often. Decent quality, heats up quick and works good.

Technology is great – get this.
The iron I got from my dad 40 years ago stopped working. After a little looking around I took a chance on this one because the price was correct,, pushed a 100watts and it gave me temperature control – plus higher temperatures. If you have an old iron – but this. It is amazing what tech maturity has done. It heats up in seconds, not minutes. The temp is controlled allowing you to get into tighter areas without the constant push in, back out before you overheat the next compoenent, etc. Will it last 40 years? Probably not. However, nothing lasts like that and gives you the features like this. So if you are tired of waiting 10 minutes for warmup – this is the answer.

Works well. Heats quickly.
Never had a soldering pen with a digital temp control. I set it to 345f and it took less than a minute to get up to temp. Took care of my soldering needs quickly and neatly. Powered it off and let it cool. Not sure what else I can write about this. It works fine. I’ll come back in a year and add another star if it lasts that long.

Works great
So I got this to seal a jump ring on a neaklace and it worked great. (Pic above) this thing gets REALLY HOT REALLY FAST so you have to be careful. Others were right no instructions per say, very brief. Takes a little getting use to but I like it. (Youtoob has videos)The paste was leaking inside the box cause it wasn’t sealed but nothing was ruined so that’s good. You have to put it on a base that won’t burn or get to hot, a “stand” is included but plastic and very small. Practice on a few things before you begin but fairly easy to use.

Inexpensive but reliable Solder kit
You can change the heat level if you need to, but other than that the kit has all the basics you need (small tweezers, multiple tips, rosin paste, lead free solder) for a very reasonable price. Works great but for the occasional use but not sure how well this would work if used daily.
