Perfect!
There are a lot of complaints here, which made my wary to order these, but I did anyway, and figured I’d send them back if I wasn’t satisfied. The ones I got seem well made, and nicely finished. The alignment of the tips is perfect, couldn’t be better. BUT they sure looked and felt like plastic, as quite a few other customers have claimed. The ceramic is glossy, and has a kind of greasy feel to it, just like plastic. I was about to box them up for a return, when I thought I’d give Amazon proof that they were not ceramic. I heated the tips with a cigarette lighter, and then pressed them against a piece of steel. Nothing – they were very hot, but undamaged – they just had black carbon on them from the flame. OK, I took them out to my Jewelry studio, and hit them with a torch until the tips were glowing red. They withstood it perfectly, no softening or damage at all – it even burned off the carbon stains. All in all , I’m completely satisfied with them, and will have many uses for them in my studio. I may order another set. I think the tips are sort of like Corningware that is a ceramic/glass composition. They sure look like plastic, but DEFINITELY ARE NOT. A common test for glass/plastic is to bump it against your teeth. Plastic will give a duller sound, while glass will give a sharp tic. Try it.

These are Good
Sturdy, well finished, definitely non-conductive, and with a good grip – much better than plastic tweezers. They work very well when replacing button cells in watches.

What I saw is what I got.
I needed tweezers that could handle button batteries without shorting them out. They do that pretty well. For that purpose at least one pair could have a finer point. I might just abrade one down for that. I haven’t used them for holding items while soldering, but they look like they would do that well. The tips were all well aligned and fastened tightly. They are slippery and without gripping striations cut into their surface. I expected that so it wasn’t a disappointment. They are worth the price, for me.

Neat
I never seen these before. I like them took a minute to get used to but easy to use. I wanted SS ceramic tweezers for my builds. So far these durable dropped a couple times nothing happened.

Good enough for me
All 3 arrived with tips aligned well enough to grab my tiny 1mm surface mount components.Although i can’t tell if the tips are actually ceramic, what mattered to me is that they are not magnetic, not conductive, and can withstand a 350â°c soldering iron without melting or deforming. These tips met those needs. They are a little bulky for 1mm work, but they got the job done

Delicate
I liked the feel but the tips are very delicate. Broke the first one the first time I tried it.

Is perfection possible?
The only problem with a little piece of the tip of the straight tweezers was chipped on one side. I’ve been using… holding my AlN insert for my Focus V Carta… Torching it while the tweezer holds them. I’m letting it get more than 1000 degrees Fahrenheit; I imagine. Just spot hitting until the AlN insert glows red/white. Not hitting the tweezers directly with the torch. I broke a different brand of tweezers (which belongs to a friend of mine), so I bought these to replace. I broke the others by torching and rapidly cooling with water… Even if these can stand high temperatures… I’m not sure how ceramic deals with drastic changes in temp… I wouldn’t risk it…Would be nice way to know how to carefully get these back to white… so far only keep one as the “dirty one” and the other two can stay clean…I am happy with this purchases…only about a millimeter was missing from the tip… perfectionist issues I imagine… I imagine as many as they make… it’s probably a 1/1000 issue if not 1/1000000
