Inexpensive but works great
Only used twice so far for quick repairs, after my trusty solder iron broke, I bought this and 2 other types. This one worked great, heated up instantly unlike my old one. I’m going to try the others i bought and put this one into more use soon, if it holds up well I’ll buy a bunch more to have handy.

80W SIKDERING IRON KIT
I BOUGHT THIS AS A GIFT FOR MY GRANDSON (19yrs) SO I HAVE NOT USED IT. OTHER BUYERS’ EXPRESSED DISSATISFACTION WITH THE ON OFF SWITCH NOT ON THE ROD UNIT. WHEN I SAW THIS ONE HAD IT, PLUS IT WAS ON SALE, I DECIDED TO PURCHASE. I BELIEVE THE SET I RECEIVED IS A RETURN. IT WAS NOT IN A BAG AS THE OTHER SET I BOUGHT FOR AN OLDER GRANDSON. WHEN I OPENED IT, EVERY PIECE INSIDE WAS DISLODGED FROM IT’S HOLDER. NOTHING HAS BEEN USED. SOME OF THE INSIDE HOLDERS ARE IN DIFFERENT POSITIONS THAN THE IMAGE PHOTO. Heats up fast
Very good soldering iron for the money heats up fast, easy to handle and the on/off switch is handy when you are troubleshooting a circuit, and you don’t need it on. The temperature adjust seems to work nice too. I don’t use the holder that came with it because I don’t think they are safe, to easy for the iron to fall out. But I do have an old Weller holder and this iron fits in it perfectly.

Inconvenience
First off the kit, not a bad starter kit. Get some of the basics and a feel on this field. My disappointment lies with packaging. The zipper case was not sealed so I had to order a replacement because it appears the paste and solder fell out. When I received the replacement, that’s when I realized it doesn’t come sealed. That said, I had to go to the store and purchase the flux and solder, something I was trying to avoid, hence the inconvenience of this product. I purchase through this seller on the Amazon platform for the convenience, but this is where I think it needs help.Got the small task done, but would have been done right the first time, given I had everything.

A really nice solder kit
I really like the kit because of the adjustable temperature settings and such. I didn’t give it an overall 5 Star rating because the power cord is a bit thicker than I’m used too and it’s stiffer when trying to get in the little spaces on the PC boards. the on/off switch is nice, but it’s a tad larger compared to the length of the power cable. when you are soldering, you are holding the iron and supporting the heavy power cord and the switch. Otherwise it’s a very nice solder iron for the price. It replaced my 45+ year old iron that finally disintegrated.

Nice set, includes everything that is needed, soldering iron is a good size ðð» as it can be held like a pencil and extremely quick to heat up.With the ability to set the temperature with the push of the +/- button is terrific for most jobs with multiple tips provided.

I was really disappointed with this product. It arrived quickly and was well packaged.However, it didn’t turn on and was a dud. I had been really looking forward to starting a project, so was disappointed. I have ordered another from Amazon – different supplier. Here’s hoping.
