Great entry level kit!! Buy it!
Excellent value!Iâm coming from a generic pencil soldering iron and a big trigger pull iron and I mainly work on guitars and tube amps. This new one is so much better and really heats up fast and holds temp. Great for occasional use, but is plastic and at this price, it is obviously not designed for a serious pro or daily shop use.Note, some complain about the helping arms not staying in place but make sure to use the supplied nuts that come with it on each arm, and tighten those to the side, not tighten just the arms to the side. (Watch the video!)Pros:Heats up quickly. Great set up and heats up fast!
I had a very old soldering iron that took a long time to heat up. I work on electronics every now and then and wanted something that was a bit faster. This was perfect! I love the stand and clamps for holding items to work on and the speed it heats up is great.Comes with lots of other items and tips for specific work, and they are good quality! I really am glad I got this. I repaired two electronic items that were going to be thrown out and now work fine.Highly recommend this kit, it works great!

Great value. Helping hands are irritating
Not a top notch set up but it heats quickly and does the job. Canât give an accurate assessment on the temp accuracy. The helping hands are difficult to get in position as they want to spring back instead of stay where you put them, so it takes some patience . Other than that, I canât really knock it given the price.

Soldering is much easier with this soldering station
I somehow ruined my Weller soldering station, which I had used for years. I tried different soldering irons before buying this soldering station. It works great. It costs less than the Weller station and offers better features. The holder for the roll of solder is nice, although I had to stick some tape on it so the roll would stay on. The helping hands clips are useful in some situations. The station holds the soldering iron securely . The inclusion of the solder roll, tweezers and extra tips enhances the value. I havenât had it long enough to evaluate how long it will last.

Tip not heating up correctly (Update)
I bought this soldering iron for occasional use on guitar repairs. Since I do not solder daily, this looked like A good choice for light duty. The first time I used it, I set the temperature to 700 degrees, and try to tin the tip. Even though it was set to 700, it would not melt the supplied solder. After about three minutes, I was able to tin the tip, but still not able to transfer enough heat to tin a piece of wire. I held the tip to the wire for over one minute but, it still did not transfer enough heat for the wire to tin. I tried using leaded solder to rule out the possibility that the supplied led free solder was the problem, but got the same results. Since there are so many positive reviews, I am assuming that there is something wrong with this unit. I am going to give it another chance and exchange this one and see if a replacement will heat the tip more accurately, If the replacement works, I will update my review.Update:I just received my replacement two days ago and finally got a chance to test it. The replacement works fine. I’m giving this a 5-star review because I got it for occasional soldering projects. The package comes with everything one would need to get started, and for the amount of use that I will be giving it, it will probably last years. I doubt this device will hold up for more than a year with heavy use. It’s very functional but made of cheaper materials.

Amazing quality AND Value!
Iâm blown away. I needed this for a Game boy Color project I have been wanting to work on that called for soldering one wire. I had never soldered before so I ordered a cheap kit off here that barely even heated up. I decided to put it away and try something nicer because something definitely felt off, despite never soldering before. This thing came the same day I ordered it, came packed with a whole bunch of nice little extras – several tips, a roll of soldering wire, a pair of tweezers and has built in âhelping handsâ which will definitely come in handy for a future project. The temperature control is fantastic, it heats up nice and quick and has a nifty little roll for your spool of soldering wire on the side and a nice little spot to place a wet sponge for cleaning the tip. Everything feels like good quality materials and itâs super easy to set up! I would say this is perfect for anyone looking to do some soldering no matter what their skill level is and doesnât wanna spend a whole lot of money but still needs something reliable. I love how everything just fits together and nothing feels cheap, I love this thing!

Om first use itself, poor build quality is evident in all aspects. LED display never tells correct temperature. Knob is fiddly. Helping hands are useless. The holder for solder wire wobbles.NOTHING ABOUT THIS IS GOOD! I was misled by reviews.Takes forever to reach soldering temperature. Is short, GARBAGE. I have borrowed a friends soldering iron that cost him one tenth.On top of that, Why is Amazon selling 120 Volts products in India WITHOUT declaring this upfront!!! This means shelling out THOUSANDS for a good voltage converter on top of this garbage product. WHY???
